  • So bad, you’ll miss Spectrum

This app is totally unusable. Opening a menu item takes over 10 seconds each time. Device management is nearly impossible-there is an option to rename devices that never successfully loads. Apart from the godawful app, Google Fiber’s coverage of my entire neighborhood has been atrocious. We all must restart our routers multiple times per day to video conference or stream on our “gigabit” plans. AND we need to use this shameful app to restart the router. Congratulations Google, you made me miss Spectrum.
  • Slow and Terrible

The app takes 5-15 seconds to load pages after clicking any button. If that was the only issue, I’d give the app 3, maybe 4 stars. Unfortunately, that is not the only issue. I wanted to set a static IP address for a device on my network and while it would be a 30 second to a minute task on Eero, it took me 2 hours. 33% because the Google Fiber app is just that slow. 33% because all of the documentation about the Google Fiber app online is out of date, and Google AI is probably being fed that, so it’s not useful either. 33% due to the “agents” just being humans using Google AI to answer your questions. I started sending screenshots to the agent following their steps to prove what they were telling me to do was not possible. This was after they lied to me and told me that setting a local static IP was impossible. Honestly impressive how hard they made it to set up, especially for someone who has done this dozens of time. I don’t think I could design a worse app if I tried. Good job Google, you erased all good will I had towards you as an ISP. Just go with someone else!
  • Useless- Nothing works

This app never works! Constant error messages, parental controls are non-existent, and the interface just doesn’t work! Ive been unable to access my network device controls for weeks. Customer service says they have a lot of bugs and they never get fixed. The entire GFiber experience has been very unsatisfactory for the entire time I’ve been a customer. Seriously considering going BACK to Comcast/Xfinity because at least they have an excellent app and responsive customer service.

I’ve been using this app for a week and the functionality is terrible. The features for controlling devices on your network are negligible at best. That’s if you can find them. Not happy at all.

So I’ve had GFiber before and have had to suffer with xfinity / Concast for the last year. Google speeds are faster, more reliable and customer service is better. Comcast/universal/nbc/peacock should’ve been busted up years ago as a monopoly. So happy that GFiber is available.
  • Having to reset the router every other day

Was pretty excited about getting fiber but I have been having to reset the router every other day. Why I can’t reset it from my phone like I could with comcast is weird especially when you seem to have enough information to tell me that it’s wrong and it’s ip address. Do better please.
  • WiFi in Network Settings

Turning off the WiFi in Network Settings (at night for example) does NOT work consistently. This is one of the worst apps I have. There are no parental controls and very limited capabilities. You are significantly behind your competitors with this app.
  • Useless App

App is only useful for payments. As far as finding out if there’s outages or resetting your router. Can’t even manage your connected devices, only thing you can “manage” is name of device or kick off whilst said device is unconnected.
  • Surprisingly bad app

It’s strange to me that google would be the one to have such a bad app. My biggest peeve is when you set up schedules for devices it doesn’t actually shut them off for an hour or so after the specified time. Or vice versa, when they are scheduled to come back on, they don’t for another hour or so. Also if you choose to resume a device, it takes hours to get back online. This is across the board with every type of device we use. This seems like a really simple thing for it to be so poorly executed. I’ve had other routers that have this functionality and they actually worked.
