  • The google update ruined Fitbit

First off, the Home Screen WAS customized to my needs before the update and now I have to pick ONE area of health focus and scroll way down to find the other items I’m looking for. They are pre-arranged by category and the only way to customize it is to remove things. You can’t put them in the order you want anymore. This is SUPER annoying. Syncing my Fitbit used to be my morning calm wake up routine checking my sleeping stats and health goals and now it is infuriating trying to even find anything. In addition, my watch/app no longer recognizes when I nap or go for short walks automatically, and it is recognizing my showers as running laps, which it never used to do. It also doesn’t seem to detect when I’m completely awake for hours at night. It could be an issue with my Sense2 or the app, but I’ve had severe fevers, extremely low O2 stats, super hight stress events, etc and none have ever been tracked and no alert is ever sent to me. Fitbit was an ok product, not the best, but the Google buyout made it basically just a wrist watch for me. None of the features I would want/need actually work properly. I only use my watch to control Spotify while I’m driving. The rest of the features are useless. And on top of it, my sense2 only holds a charge for about a day recently, down from 7 days when i bought it a year ago. Once this thing dies I’m deleting the account. Bye Fitbit :( I used to love you. The Home Screen is also UGLY NOW!!! It looks like a boring monochromatic medical chart. When I try to sync my Fitbit and it fails there’s no red alert at the top anymore, nor any indication to let me know. So that’s a problem. Navigating settings for the watch itself and the phone were issues Fitbit had previously that were already annoying to troubleshoot. This update makes it harder to find anything you’re looking for… …And where is my profile?!?! It’s just gone? I only have a Fitbit because my boyfriend and I compete for steps and taunt each other. The profile/friends feature appears to be completely removed. WHY? When I linked my account to google, all of my messages were deleted too. :( Super sad. And finally the HUGE DEALBREAKER for me which is why I’m going to throw my Fitbit in the trash and never purchase another… GOOGLE! I refuse to give permission to google to track my location, my friends, my phone number, contact list, email, bio stats, menstrual health, finances, etc etc etc. Screw you google. And screw the US govt for allow a corporation to buy up every competitor, ignoring all anti-trust laws we have in this country. IM LIVID. Everytime I open the Fitbit app now, it logs me out and tells me to link a google account. Once again, screw you google. Bye Fitbit.
  • Doesn’t keep a record correctly

The most frustrating app ever. It drops steps for no reason and today, it didn’t track my sleep stats. I’ve been keeping track of these stats everyday, so its annoying to see no stats and no score. It showed the correct sleep and wake time, but nothing else when I tried rebooting my phone, the wake and sleep times were incorrect. Come on Fitbit. I updated too, but it’s not working
  • Doesn’t do the math correctly

Doesn’t add the calories up properly in the food list where the macros are displayed. You have to do your own math if you want to see the correct amount of calories consumed. It does however have the correct amount on the main dashboard. Very frustrating please fix this issue. Constantly changes food amounts even after adjusting them numerous times. Frustrating! Fix the problems Fitbit!

Got a notification that I have to update my Fitbit to keep using it. The update button in the app? Doesn’t work. So now I have a Fitbit I can’t even use that I just got three months ago. Total scam! And this isn’t my first Fitbit. I’ve used one since 2016, so this is a new issue but one that will ensure I don’t buy another one - great way to lose business!!

Too many workout choices - format categories into sections by age groups and functional capacity

Had used the FitBit app with a FitBit One and a Charge 2. Yes, a long time. Knew it was the end of the road with the sellout to Google. Luckily I bricked my Charge with ocean water. I revived it in rice, but barely holds a day’s charge now. Was not going to be forced into switching to Google anyway. Sweet freedom from the reins of becoming Googlefied or is it Googlefried?

  • Since 2017 Fitbit for me

Have went by Fitbit or a different version of Fitbit since 2017. I had a heart murmur and it really helped me keep track of what was going on with my pulse. And after I had open heart surgery it gave me great solace to see where my pulse was and get all my exercise in. The one thing I do not like is when it automatically goes into walking mode. And I have to shut walking off in order to see the time or my pulse.
