While I was working on a paper, suddenly the dialog popped up to rate the application. These annoying pop ups have to stop. Horrible practice not to value the users time.
  • a lot of ahole design in it.

a lot of attempts to use icloud to share when a simple email box would be better.
  • Use it a lot for writing

I write books with it. It is limited. You can't open other kinds of files with it like you can Microsoft, and the App store is VERY limited. The text to speech is archaic and cluggy, and you can't do a sentence or paragraph or all kinds of things for speech limited people. If you are doing poem books, forget it. You really need to know what you are doing to set. it up and format it. As for book formatting, it is about 15 years behind the industry. Yes, you can make it work with templates, etc. but why? It is really a non-competitive product. It saves you from buying other software but that is about all. I've used it for 10 years or more and hate Microsoft, but in all honesty, it is a better product and plaform. To that end, I'm an apple fan, but apple is quickly losing me and if I were to start over it would be a real hard choice. I think I'd probably go Linux or even a mix of Linux and Microsoft. Frustration with getting things updated and a more friendly use atmosphere like file import from from Adobe programs, etc. would be a real upgrade.

I have been on Apple products since 1987 and have always found them to be the most intuitive and user-friendly; both their hardware and software. I am an educator and have sat on many local boards. I love Pages and use it all the time. I have taught my students and conducted many seminars for teachers to show them just how easy and versatile the program is. Thank you for continuing to make superior products that allow us to work smarter and not harder.

So much easier to use than MS Word and makes it easy to make good looking documents. When exporting to Word format, the docs usually look better than if I had originated them in Word…

Microsoft Word has some features that make it more office friendly; however, Pages runs laps in terms of speed, and efficiency when utilizing features that involve complex formatting. Pages has figured out a method of making the user interface intuitive and clear. The only feature that makes the MSFT entire suite viable is Excel’s complex mathematical functions, but that may change in the near future.
  • Less intuitive, or I could be use to Word

Great application, but sometimes, for small things, I just can’t find them. It can take me hours to find out how to do something that took seconds in Microsoft word. Also, having different file formats and not being cross compatible is an issues. I do like the AI apps that can easily help you change the tone of your language like grammerly. All in all, there’s a little more work to do to make it more seamless to use, especially for anyone use to Microsoft.
