We should be able to control our music from within the iTunes app like on Spotify. This is dated technology and it’s clunky. Do better apple!

Volume isn’t precisely synced; whatever the max volume of the Mac is set to is the max volume, period.

This app is old, rarely updated, and could certainly benefit from new features and enhancements. However, it works fine as is. I use it every day and would be very upset if it was discontinued. I use it to control the music that plays throughout my home on multiple AirPlay speakers simultaneously. My music is stored locally on my Mac that’s on all the time. Music plays from the Music app on the Mac, which AirPlays to all my speakers. Then I control the music and the volume of each speaker with this app from my iPhone. This is better than sending it directly to the speakers from my phone because I can walk out of Wi-Fi range without the music stopping. It also saves my phone battery. Even though it hasn’t had any meaningful updates in a long time and could use a lot of improvements, I’m giving it 5 stars because I find it so useful. Maybe Apple will be less likely to discontinue it if it has good reviews. Please do not discontinue this app and please do continue to update it so it continues to work with new versions of iOS and macOS.

I used to use this with iTunes. Tried to use it today with Apple Music on the latest app versions/macOS version… no luck, even following all the Home Sharing instructions on the Apple help page, until finally I closed Apple Music and re-opened it. Magically the option to connect finally appeared. The help docs could use an update.

I have had no issues (not a one) with iTunes remote, been using it for decades. I only wish Apple would have pitch control like JRiver.
