  • Finally a LR replacement

I tried many photo editors for iPad and retuned back to LR until I tried this. It has every tool I need and none I don’t need (Forced cloud storage?) . Tight integration with iOS. LUT load, spot removal, LUT at Mask level, fast saves, heic and avif exports, ML tools actually works well , color mix.. I have no reason to go back to LR and pay double the subscription price. This is staying in my subscription list. Cheers to the dev

Worked well with the first few raw photos I edited, but now the app instantly freezes on launch. Tried uninstalling, shutting completely down and reinstalling, still freezes.

Photomator is the perfect combination of functionality and affordability. If offers all of the features and more of the egregiously priced Adobe alternatives, and it’s so well tied in with the Apple ecosystem that i’ve chopped substantial amounts of time off of my workflow. You really can’t go wrong with the powerful yet intuitive design of this app. Props, guys.

In Workflows 1. needs to add watermark capability to the flow - 2. Need to have AI able to auto rate image image when cropping…
  • Not Free - Deceptive

Short free trial, but you must pay for this app to use it, so not really free. Even though it shows as Free on the Apple Store. Sad, because Apple now owns this software.
  • Slower than mud, buggy, and crashes.

Just bought a new iPad mini. 99% for using this app, and editing on the go. Constantly it will break my image when I try to do super resolution. It also has a tendency to crash on me, usually right when I’m finishing up an edit, so of course I lose everything I just did. Honestly pretty mad.
  • Really Wanted to Like It

I hate Adobe. I really wanted this to be my Lightroom replacement. Its good but I feel like some version of this should just be free for having an apple device. Anyways let's get into what this app does well it renders my photos extremelly nicely, however the rendering is signifigantly slower and without any previews function like LR theres no way to zoom through hundreds of photos and rate them all so it is abosolutely not good for culling. The user interface is meh it feels very just finder like and idk if I really like that. It does a solid job of object detection and removal. I really really enjoy the selectivy clarity tab and overall the optinons of adjustments is pretty solid. It really annoys me how there is a black clip slider but not a white clip slider or is the white clip slider just brightness im not sure why they named these sliders like this, not a fan. Why is the temperature and tint of my raw files not exactly what the metadata of the raw file was? Why is it a percentage relative to 0 what is my reference to what it is originally why are we treating a raw file like jpeg, big miss on that one. The masking and advanced workflow feature are where this one really misses the mark. No intersection of masks is a big big miss this feature is so so powerful in LR and I use it constantly. Along with no Pano, HDR and Focus Stacking support make this hard to swap to as a primarily Landscape Photographer. Some small gripes: not being able to easily reset a slider is annoying, the toggling on and off of an adjustment is clunky. Organization is honestly horrid, not having groups stacking etc. is just very hard to see my large catalog staying accesible and efficent with this interface. To a casual photgrapher who wants to get off of lightroom with all the basic the features and a one time payment I can see this being an option but if you are serious and use the more involved feature in lr often then I think its not quite our time to leave adobe just yet unfortunately. It has promise but it needs to be more depth and substance to it for me make the switch. Get to work Apple would love for this to be an actual threat to Adobe.

It’s a really good app, but I can’t find anything that lets you put something from an other photo to the photo u r on. And I don’t think it lets u put images onto ur photos either, for example a mustache on a cat will not work the app simply won’t let you put I mustache on a cat. There is not much to do. It is still a great working app 2 stars.
