I’m thankful for Garmin to make an app that has many different choices of work out to choose from. Whether I just want to see movies and ride at my leisure, join challenges to keep me, honest about my work out, or have pre-programmed workouts that Ken and Kris my endurance for my VO2. Max has been fabulous.

I love the app, but there are a couple things that are really annoying. First, it often can’t find at least one of my 4 connected devices. After 5 minutes or so of restarting the app, unplugging the trainer, taking off my HRM, etc, I can usually get them all to be seen. Second, at random times in rides (usually at least 20 minutes in) it starts losing connection to the trainer - the resistance drops to nothing for 10 seconds or so, then it finds the device again, and resistance returns. Repeats every minute or so. Eventually, it will say “Activity paused, start pedaling to resume” at which point It won’t ever find the device again, and my ride is over. If they fixed those things, I’d give it 5 stars, but it’s just too flaky right now.
  • Great but!

The app and the TACX are great. Would be a 5 buuuut you need a subscription to use any thing but some rudimentary rides. The machine itself cost a good bit. Would be better if it came with a few serious ride. I tend to use it in spurts and then not for a long time. The current system discourages me from using it and so discourages from getting even a monthly once in awhile.
  • So much potential

Really was hoping TACX could have figured it out given Garmins dominance of all of the hardware world. The app disappoints but has great potential. Some ideas to make it useful - 1) allow for overlay of workouts on scenic rides. Wouldn’t it be great if trainers could ACTUALLY simulate workout rides outdoors instead of other random gamified racing. 2) how about some more robust metrics for a workout rides? I’d be better off just using my Edge head unit to get the detail I should be able to see for a ride - lap paces, HR, etc.
  • Missing features

I would add 2 stars if Garmin would add the ability to import workouts (as .TCX or .FIT files) rather than simply creating them in the Connections app. Additionally, the workout metrics display needs improvement such as an arrow indicating progress!
