  • So much potential!

It’s a descent app that is reliable. Our kid uses the watch to practice autonomy, with safety but without the troubles that come with cell phones for kids (and adults). BUT there are some short-comings. (1) sometimes the GPS location drifts. We haven’t needed to pinpoint the exact location when she’s riding her bike. So it hasn’t been an issue for us. (2) for some very frustrating season, you can’t play the voicemail on the speaker. It’s annoying because you miss the first second of the message. And the first second is surprisingly crucial in many messages. Please Garmin, fix this. Thank you!

Watch is working well for our 9 year old. It helps motivate him to get up and move, and allows sense of security for us parents. The messaging features are pretty plain, but a great way to ease into things for our son. He likes the various games and story play through abilities. The watch’s functions can be cross platform abilities with Windows and Mac via the app, but not for Chromebooks. The chore goal setter is a nice function as well.

I often have to shut down the app and reopen it to get my kids voice messages. Wish it would refresh in real time. Other than that I’m enjoying it.

We have had this app this app for three months so far we like it, it’s simple and works well, along with the watches
  • Live tracking

The live tracking is a little frustrating as it does not update in live time. Constantly takes a while to load. It’s also frustrating paying $10 a month for it to not update better for tracking.

Love being able to track our daughter. Watch and app are easy to use and understand. Great alternative to giving her a cell phone that she would probably put down somewhere and lose.
  • Generally good. Messaging is buggy

The core functions of tracking and notifications are great. We like to use the message feature. Bug however is that anytime I record or receive and audio message I can listen to or record another unless I restart the app. Not a deal breaker just an annoying bug.
  • Time updates are wrong

The current system takes about 5 to 10 minutes to send updates to a parent's phone when their child leaves home. Improving the timing of this notification process would greatly enhance parental awareness and reassurance regarding their child's safety and mobility. By providing more immediate updates, parents can stay connected and have peace of mind about their child's whereabouts.

I love being able to communicate and track the locations of my daughters without giving them phones.
