When it works well, it works. However, since the last release, the FaceIt app doesn’t work at all. Each time I try to update or change watch faces, the app hangs and the watch doesn’t update. More times than not I get a message “installation still in progress, check device later.” Why is this so difficult to update a watch that is allegedly connected via Bluetooth? Once again Garmin disappoints.

Installed the app, installed a new watchface and 24 hours later, it went away. Why? After over an hour of searching, no explanation. Terrible application. Why is it that apps just stop working with zero explanation?

I hate that they don’t have a filter for finding FREE watch faces. I can’t find a single watch face that I like and they all cost money (of course) I made the mistake of getting this app to see if I could change my watch face a little. It took away the cute little analog clock I had the second I made one with a photo and now I can’t get it back. So I’m searching and searching for something simple with analog that’s somewhat cute/elegant and NOTHING is free What the hell happened to the options I had before this app became a thing. I HATE IT.

Connect IQ Store app works as described. No problems encountered, yet. It’s been functioning perfectly.

This helps customize watch faces and a lot more for Garmin devices

Rendered my watch useless, I went into change my face, before I could easily change it and now I have no idea how to do it, I just want to change the face and it won’t allow me to use any of the purchased ones I have.

Connect IQ Store is a really good concept and an important part of the Garmin ecosystem. It gives users the ability to customize their watch, install apps, data fields, and watch faces — which is exactly what makes Garmin devices feel powerful and personal. However, the store feels outdated compared to what it could be. Many watch faces, apps, and designs look old, repetitive, or poorly optimized. There isn’t enough fresh content, and updates for existing apps often come too slowly. Garmin hardware is modern and strong, but the software side — especially visual customization — needs more attention. Users want more variety in watch faces, better design quality, smoother performance, and more frequent updates. New styles, modern UI ideas, cleaner graphics, and more creativity from developers would make a huge difference. Right now, some content feels stuck in the past while still costing money. If Garmin encourages more active updates, better design standards, and more diversity in the store, this could become one of the best smartwatch ecosystems out there. The potential is huge — it just needs fresh energy, modern design direction, and faster updates.

Why do you need 2 apps? Just merge this with connect. I used to think garmin made quality products but between my new watch and these 2 apps I’m truly disappointed.

FACEIT was installed but when I tried to use my own photos, and click install, it will load for 2 minutes then say “something went wrong”.

Garmin needs to take lessons from Apple. I bought a new Instinct 3 AMOLED and love the watch, but if you try to purchase a third party watch face, you will be praying to the watch gods to get it installed. I have purchased 3 watch faces so far. 1 was free and the other 2 were paid. For the paid ones, they were stuck on “your order is processing “ for hours even though I received the confirmation email. If you try to contact support from Garmin or from the dev, they will just point fingers to each other. I had to hard reset my watch and re-pair it to the app to get the watch faces to install. YMMV.
