  • “Garbage” StreetCross

I’m sad that this is the only supported navigation app for my Yamaha. It’s basically unusable. Planning a route with waypoints is the opposite of user friendly, and when I finally planned a route and started it I guess I missed the first waypoint by 20 feet and it spent the next half hour recalculating and telling me to take every. Single. U turn. Until I finally got frustrated and turned navigation off. I tried to hit the “skip next step” button on my bike but it wouldn’t do anything. I really wish the app wasn’t so horrible, because I was excited to have turn by turn navigation on my bike without needing any external equipment. Oh well. I guess I’ll just have to move my Beeline Moto onto my new bike (since their app is actually functional)
  • Clearly not a priority for Garmin

I read the reviews. Not a good sign when the developer has sassy answers for every negative review. It means they’re not really interested in improving the product, rather they’d prefer to spend energy arguing with the users. This app doesn’t come even CLOSE to meeting Garmin’s normal standards. Take the login screen for example. Even the most basic app designed by a toddler has basic autofill features for username, email, and password generation. Usually it will add your account password to the phones built in password manager (iOS). Not this app. Basic features are too difficult for the C team at Garmin (they can’t even make B team with this level of polish). Feels like they offloaded their app dev responsibilities to a small tribe in the Congo who use smoke signals to design features. And given their sassy responses on here (and refusal to apologize for bad app experiences) it won’t be solved anytime even remotely soon. Get a smartphone mount. Use Apple/Google/Waze. Your life will get better. Such a shame because Yamaha mandates this for their built in GPS on their new 2025 bikes. I will be complaining to Yamaha as well.

This app crashes every single time I opened it after a few seconds. I decided to use Apple Maps for my Xmax.

I can’t even download a map to get started. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, I’m connected to WiFi but keep getting an error that I’m not connected to the internet. Funny because EVERYTHING else on my phone is working just fine. Absolutely trash, will be passing this along to Yamaha as well.

Frequently disconnects, if you switch off the app so its in the background it seems to have connectivity issues. If this happens i need to pull over and refresh the app so it reconnects. I often cant find places by name and I have to tediously copy paste the address. I cant map the destination unless i'm connected, but would be preferable to just do that beforehand so I can see where im going before starting my bike up. Looks like it hasnt been updated in 8 months.
  • Absolute crap for a GPS app

This is the default GPS app for Yamaha XMAX, and it’s abysmal. It’s incredibly difficult to plan trips, as it constantly wants to search “the current map view” which often doesn’t show your next stop on a trip. But once you zoom out to broaden the search, it cancels the trip you were building. It’s beyond frustrating. It often cannot find smaller cities, points of interest, etc. despite being “up to date “ and having an internet connection. Sadly, having GPS native to the XMAX was one of the selling points for me, but had I known Yamaha used this crap, I may have gone a different way. I’ve since mounted my phone so I can use Apple or Google Maps, because this Garmin app is just horrible.
