I’ve been using this app for months now with little issue, and largely been a fan. I’ve earned and cashed out $50 already just from doing the usual task every few days of screenshotting my weekly app use, combined with the occasional brief survey every couple of months. I’m pretty sure that I’m essentially selling out my own data, but hey—at least I’m the one selling it and getting money for it, right? I was at about $30 or $35, close to my second $50 cash-out, when I got a new kind of task I could do. Basically, you get a Viewpoints extension on your computer and choose bits of your internet browsing history to share with Meta. Again, selling out my own data. Not the best idea for my own privacy’s sake, but I do like money! However, upon logging into the extension, I was promptly logged out of the app. I didn’t think it was a big deal because I figured I could just log back in, right? Nope. Whenever I use any of the login methods, Viewpoints assumes I’m trying to create a new account and helpfully informs me that “There is an account associated with this phone number/This email matches an existing Viewpoints account”, and maybe I should try a different one? Note that the screen is telling me to “LOG IN or create an account”, yet has no option to log in to my preexisting account! It also mentions continuing with Facebook. Although I’m not sure if my Facebook is connected to my Viewpoints account, I tried this too. No dice. Last night it simply said it wasn’t working, but now the error message says that “Your account is temporarily unavailable. Regain access by updating the app or logging in from a mobile or web browser.” Except my app is already updated. There’s no option at all to log in on the mobile web browser and I’m already logged into Facebook on my phone (though I double checked and logged in again, no difference), so I can only assume they want me to log into the extension again. My only other guess was that maybe I should try updating my iOS? So I tried both. iOS updated: No difference. Browser extension: Requires an invitation code, which you can only get when logged into the app. In other words, I’m stumped. I’d talk to customer service except, judging by the other reviews, there isn’t anything. Just the Help Center FAQs on Facebook, which of course don’t address this specific login issue. If this problem gets fixed (aka I check in on my app one day and can suddenly log in), I’ll probably add another star to my rating. But as things stand right now, 3 out of 5 is the best I can do for an app where I can’t even access my account. I would still recommend the app ultimately as it’s the easiest app I’ve found so far when it comes to making money through apps, but be aware that glitches can, in fact, happen. Update: Sure enough, about two weeks later I try logging in and suddenly it works again. No idea what the glitch was or what fixed it, seeing as the app has not had a single update during this entire span of time, but I’m not complaining. 4 stars it is!

The app automatically redeem my payment of $35 on January 14 but I didn’t receive any notification and the payment has not yet been made. I have tried to contact them but I cannot find a way.

It also has significant implications for selling users’ data and compels users to use it while running in the background, collecting their information without their consent.

Hello, I’ve been with viewpoints for quite some time and have never had a problem receiving my redeemed rewards until a few weeks ago. Now it says 2 of my redeemed rewards are being reviewed by the sender. I’ve emailed Tremendous who said I needed to email meta so I have numerous times with no resolution in sight. Please help fix this issue and I’ll do another better review. Thank you, M.Emberson

The title says it all. This all wants your data but it doesn’t want to make you a slave to surveys that kick you out just before you complete them or force you to play boring games featuring piggies that rob villages or whatever. Instead, it asks you for YOUR opinion, for snapshots of your system settings, and for information relevant to its parent company. “But they’ll get my data!” So what? They’ve got it already. It’s not like your data is your soul—this ain’t TRON, yo. Give in. Give up. Resistance is futile. And there’s a periodic $5 in it for you.

I once participated in Viewpoint never missed a task, a survey, or research study. Suddenly without notice they stopped coming. Waited for a least a year before I deleted the app and the study app connected to it Why are people pretending like they are receiving programs, I haven’t received a program in years, so I really don’t understand ?? So On my way! Please explain what I seem to be missing here !!
