Kill Team: The App

It has all the necessary information, but is poorly navigable. Needs more links, the ability to transition smoothly between a teams data cards, rules, ploys, etc

Love it at the moment, and hope it stays that way. Great companion to the core rules book!

Honestly, calling it a “Glorified pdf Reader” is rude, but it’s a step up from gatekeeping rules behind a paywall. The app is fine, 3/5 but dropping due to its inability actually update and notify changes in a useful way. I am finding I need to delete and reinstall to see changes. If that was fixed and additional functions were added, this would be a 4 or even 5 star app.

It’s a PDF reader, and thankfully everything’s free! It doesn’t try to be much and it’s good at what it does.

40K and AoS apps should have free rules. Having the rules be more accessible is good for business because it encourages people to buy new teams. Kill Team is a step in the right direction.

This app is nothing more than a PDF downloader/viewer made with garbage cross platform tech. There is no valuable functionality that you don’t get by just owning an iPhone.

The application is a pdf reader, far below the quality of both the 40K and AoS applications. Searching rules and moving between teams is quite difficult and there’s no way to favorite things so you’re constantly going back to scroll the list of kill teams during a game. Updates for the appreciation are also awkward, the way the content is organized. When the universal equipment gets updated you need to update the rules for every team since they each contain a copy of it, which is hundreds of MB of data to update teams that really didn’t change. While not specific to the application the way updates are tracked is also awkward, there’s no dates or consistency so when updates happen we’ll have version 1.1 for Vespids, 1.0 of Legionary, and 1.0 of Wreckas. Legionary will have no updates since the last dataslate but Wreckas will have something, this makes it incredibly difficult to scan through the rules to see what’s changed for each team. Oh, there’s also no longer a centralized list of changes, they happen at the team level so you have to look at each team to know about updates, really inconvenient.

This is just a comprehensive list of most of the rules for kill team. Works and I don’t have issues 👍

App works fine as just a pdf viewer. The big improvement would be key words should pop up the rule when you click on them.

Great app great for quick reference when playing the game though a little awkward sometimes. It is great for quick reference to the data sheets and plots but a bit cumbersome when it comes to non faction specific rules. I think in ways to make the app better I have three suggestions. First have a weapon rules list like in the core rules that is its own tab separate from core rules to make it easier to access. Or have something similar to what apps like new recruit does where you can click on the keyword/ weapon rule and it will show you the exact wording of what that rule does. Second make it to where the standard rules reference stuff can be accessed through each kill teams page so you don’t have to leave the page to go to the list scroll up to the rules find the rule in question then leave the rules scroll and try to find your team to enter its page to get back. Third is to have maybe in the mission pack area a tab of preset terrain layouts though this idea is less needed. It would just be more useful for people who don’t really know how to make their own terrain layouts.
