  • Postmates Isn’t Worth the Gamble with your Money

    I used to love Postmates but the app is so broken and not worth it anymore. The promo codes they offer don’t work on most purchases, even if you click the button to find orders that the promo should work with. I’ve wasted so much time trying to find food with the promos just for none of them to work. Additionally, the food has errors in the order. I have had whole meals MISSING from my order and Postmates doesn’t reimburse me even 10% of what that meal costs. What is the point of a reimbursement if I’ll get $2 back on a $20 meal that is either missing entirely or inedible? Even when large portions of my meal has been messed up, the “reimbursement” doesn’t even cover the delivery! It used to be a better app, but nowadays it’s not really worth the gamble of paying full price for food + delivery just to throw that money down the drain. Lastly, the food is often late by a significant amount (usually late by more than 1 hour) even when paying for priority delivery. They do not reimburse anything for their poor timelines, and it costs to cancel the delivery.

    I have had several issues within the past few months where the wrong order was delivered or issues with missing items or incorrect items. This last issue was the wrong order being delivered. I have pictures of the order receipt from the restaurant with the wrong name and order, as well as a picture of the actual food, which was wrong. You cannot reach the delivery driver after it has been delivered so I immediately went to the app to notify that the wrong order had been delivered. I was not routed to a chat with an agent, but instead told that someone would reach out to me within 24-48 hours. Um, no. I got the wrong order, with food I cannot eat and no one can help me or give me my money back for 24-48 hours?! That’s ridiculous. I then hunted for a phone number to try to reach someone to talk to them. I contacted Uber Support and spoke to an agent explaining the situation. I was told that she would escalate the issue and I would be contacted by email within 2 hours. I waited 3 hours and after not receiving any communication, called back. I spoke to another agent, who connected me with a supervisor. She told me that she would document and escalate the case again to the right team and let them know I had photos. She said I would be contacted within 1-2 hours, possibly even sooner. I waited 2 hours, again with no communication back, I called again. This agent tells me that a refund for the order has been denied and that there is a restriction on my account. I asked why and she said because there have been several issues with my orders so there is a restriction and no refunds can be processed. Why do I have restrictions on my account for reporting when their delivery drivers deliver the wrong orders or the restaurant forgets items or send the wrong items?! I was told the restriction on my account would be removed in 2-3 months and I could request a refund at that time. Are you serious?! Your delivery driver drops of the completely wrong order and you refuse to refund me?! How is that fair to me? No food and no money. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she said she would route my call to someone else and then proceeded to hang up on me. I had to call back for a 4th time, only to be told that the person could not route me to someone else and she does not know why she told me that. This agent told me that they could forward my case to a specialized team and they POSSIBLY could remove the restriction to refund me but that they couldn’t promise anything. If the restriction isn’t removed, I just have to wait until it drops off in 2-3 months. I reiterated that even having a restriction on my account for reasons that are ABSOLUTELY NO FAULT of mine is ridiculous. Now I am out the money and did not get my order and have to wait for someone to contact me. I called back for a 5th time asking if there was anyway to send in the pictures to help prove that I did receive the wrong order, since no one bothered to ask for them previously. This agent tried to help me and send me a conversation chat so I could send him the photos and he would add them to the ticket. However, the conversation chat would not allow me to add pictures. He said he would document that I was willing to provide photos. I honestly am just so frustrated and disappointed with the customer service. I don’t understand how no one is able to assist you and that you have to wait to be contacted by a “specialized support team member” to review the ticket. Why can no one help me immediately? I can provide photo evidence that I am not lying and that I received the completely wrong order. Just refund my money so I can close my account and uninstall the app.

    Ridiculous , why can’t they bring utensils. I never ask unless I absolutely need them because of the trash it creates. But sometimes you have no choice.

    Despite contacting several times to have this glitch fixed, postemates/uber’s GPS system thinks two different streets are the same street.

    I want to emphasize I NEVER leave reviews and have been using Postmates for years. They used to be good however starting in 2024 they have absolutely gone down the drain. Every order takes minimum over an hour to be delivered and most of the time they are missing an item at which point it’s a hassle to try to get a “refund” (Postmates credit)….. very disappointed and I’m sure they do not have a comprehensible customer support team to even care about my review or act on it….. Moving onto a new platform, anything but Postmates…. Shame….

    Literally missing order items and I bring it up with customer service and they argue with me about sending a picture of a receipt. I send them a screenshot of the photo the delivery driver posted to Postmates that shows no receipt on or attached to the order and also my food, and they still won’t refund me due to not having the receipt that their delivery driver didn’t include. That’s fine, I instead took the difference from the driver’s tips. Done with Postmates and their fraudulent business practices (this is fraud, Postmates, you’re lucky I don’t dispute the whole order with my bank at this point just on principle). Will be reporting to the BBB. I work hard for my money that I chose to spend on Postmates and they continue to fraudulently steal money when food isn’t given. Back to DoorDash for me, unlike Postmates their customer service is halfway decent.

    I just received an email with a promo code from postmates. It wouldn’t work so I looked at the details and the promo code expired almost 12 hours before I received it in an email. This is not the first time this has happened with Postmates!
