Uber’s policies work against drivers. Supermarkets and restaurants often fail to provide orders for various reasons, but this ends up affecting the driver’s rating. We have no control over such situations, yet our rating drops, which leads to losing the ability to earn and causes severe stress. This results in serious psychological issues, and many drivers are forced to seek help from therapists. The company should pay attention to this matter and reconsider its cancellation policy to support those who are honestly doing their job.

Picked up a drunk customer and he threw up in my car. Took photos and provided cleaning fee receipt but got rejected because my picture did not follow the guidelines… what angle would you like me to take these blobs of undigested food to satisfy your requirement?!

The app use to be awesome but now it doesn’t give hardly any orders. You will waste more gas than anything! Sit waiting for an hour to get an order just for it to say the pay is $3 and it’s going to take 40 minutes. I don’t suggest this app for extra cash at all.

They don’t hire American drivers. They are boycotting American employees so we must boycott them.
  • App is pretty good, but…

And, it’s a big BUT! Uber support for the drivers is very weak. I’ve been driving for almost 3 years , and am almost tempted to stop contacting them when’s there’s a problem or mistake. If you can get through the maze of AI (I’d argue not intelligent at all) operators that try to guess your problem ( they never display an option that fits my concern and very difficult to get away from them and get connected to a real person, but the first person you speak to, listens and gives cookie cutter responses “I understand your concern” type useless conversations . Then you’re repeating your story to two other people before you realize that no one there has any power at all to get things done and a waste of time. Other than that it’s a good app.

Just another exploitative gig app that is good for quick money but does not pay off long term. Also, customer service is horrible. No one answers your questions and either transfer you or close the chat completely. I wouldn’t be surprised if the chat team is actually just AI.

Uber’s app design and constant updates appear increasingly manipulative. As both a driver and passenger, it’s clear the platform prioritizes maximizing its own profits at the expense of users on both sides. Drivers face erratic fare adjustments and opaque pricing, making it harder to earn fair wages, while passengers often pay inflated fees with little clarity. The frequent changes seem engineered to squeeze more from passengers while giving less to drivers, eroding trust in the platform. This feels less like innovation and more like exploitation disguised as optimization. Uber needs to prioritize fairness and transparency over relentless profit-seeking.

I like driving for Uber. It’s flexible and I’m making money. However, be prepared. If anything goes wrong it will be penalized against the driver. I’ve haggled with support for days to achieve very little if anything at all. Customer cancellations, app glitches, anything- it count against your rating with not much you can do. As long as you’re ready for that it’s great.
