So you can use this to make a fixed area screenshot, however you cannot save your custom size and there are limited options. Also, the only way to change the size of the fixed area is with n single clicks on the arrow up and arrow down. After 10 minutes of using this, I gave up

While I cannot believe that the Mac OS screenshot options don’t include an option for fixed aspect ratio, thankfully this app is available. Well thought out and a must have - especially for the price.

With my multi-monitor setup, it either grabs the wrong selection, the wrong screen, or nothing at all.
  • Precise indeed, detailed and easy to use

Why spend any money on a screen capture app? Because it’s exact, easy to use, thoughtful designed with exactly (and all) the optioins you might need but not bloatware. I hope they add the preference to keep the icon in the menu bar when the app’s not running, but it’s five stars for me regardless.

I use this to capture a serious of screenshots at a fixed location into a serious of images which I can then turn into an animated GIF (using other software); it works great for this, since it allows you to specify an output folder and base filename and it will automatically number the resulting images for you sequentially. All I then need to do is drag-and-drop the images into the GIF creator.

I needed to take about 120 screenshots per day for 10 days to prepare a soaring contest weather briefing and I only had one hour to do it each morning. Precise Screenshot had all the features I needed to take and organize them. I could choose the size of screenshot I needed and save that size for later use. I could accurately locate the screenshots to make animating them with Zeitraffer very smooth. I could easily choose a folder to store the groups of screenshots. The keyboard shortcuts made the job go faster. I could make a custom name for each group of screenshots and the app would number each one in sequence which was very convenient. I would recommend this app to anyone.

I was looking for a screenshot application that would allow me to quickly take screenshots of a selected area over and over without having to reselect the area each time. Precise Screenshot does that and it works perfect. I love this application.

If you need to take multiple screen grabs in the same area of the screen this application works perfectly. The design is nothing to write home about, but the added functionality to screen grabs makes this an essential utility. Thanks Precise!
