  • Needs more than just the magazines

This app’s functionality is extremely limited. You’d expect to be able to view and read stories as presented on the website, but you cannot. You can only view and download digitized versions of the print magazines. Other publications which use the same app framework for their mobile experience do this. I expect better from a tech publication, especially one i pay for.
  • Bad photocopy

Yes, oh, that was done. Was that they photo copied every page. A huge waste of opportunity.
  • Weaker every year

Wired used to be monthly and leading the technology revolution. Now, this app is verges on being pathetic after repeated downgrades and feature removals. It’s little more than a PDF viewer with terrible session management that constantly logs you out only after a few days. The lack of font sizing means you are reduced to pinch to zoom for everything. This may be partially due to the variable layout, but could be made adjustable or more flexible if it wasn’t wedded to the print version. The articles are still worth reading, but the app has become a source of frustration.
  • Needs improvement

As a reader, when I open the app - I should see a bookshelf with the magazine issue I am currently reading and open up to current bookmark. The app doesn’t save progress currently and that needs to be fixed. Favorites section has bugs where it saves two pages instead of one when starred. When I access a bookmark the magazine issue should load and I should be able to continue reading the entire issue from the bookmark. Currently only the two pages are saved with no access to the whole issue.
  • A political mag

Why does this magazine post so many political editorial pieces. Not the tech mag it used to be. You have alienated me and hence I won’t return. Good luck
  • Where are the articles?

As another reviewer mentions, you cannot click to get to the actual article. Or maybe just I cannot.
  • Surprisingly Lowest tech for a magazine focused on tech

Really surprised that the app only allows to download a pdf of the magazine. That is not functional to read articles on a phone. Now I only log through the web. Very surprising for a magazine focused on tech, that they have not figured out a way to deliver content through various media.
  • I thought Wired was a frontrunner in tech

This app makes me question my decision to get a subscription in the first place. This is supposed to be a go-to for tech news, yet you have to “link” your print subscription by jumping through multiple sketchy and confusing sign-in loops, just to get access to a PDF? Y’all, why did you even bother with this?
  • Loses subscription

This app keeps losing my subscription. When I “restore” my purchases, it acknowledges “purchases restored “ but I still can’t access the issues.
  • Extremely confusing

This app only gives access to a PDF version of the print magazines, and does not give access to the news content from the Wired web site. It also does not tell you this, and I went some time without understanding that there was more to my subscription. There is no reason that the app should not also give you access to the articles (including news articles) in a more readable format. Look to the Economist app to see how this can be done right.
