    Listen to app every day but refuse to listen to any Automated Voice pieces. Hire a professional. There’s PLENTY out there. If I want that piece badly enough I’ll seek it out to read. I just listened to a piece on SNL and the AI voice mispronounced ‘Live’. STOP using AI voices.

    I enjoy the design of the app. it has great audio reports and it is very easy to scroll through and find good stories. However, clicking basic features on the app directly, like play and pause, take too long to respond, and sometimes don’t seem to respond at all. It’s definitely bothersome to click pause and wait for 3 seconds to see if it pauses, and if it doesn’t, needing to pause again to see if it goes through. This feels like it should be a basic issue to rectify. It happens regardless if I have strong WiFi or a strong cellular data connection.

    I love the NYT and I avidly listen to a number of their podcasts. The content is spectacular! The app UX could use a little work. Can be hard to navigate out and to another show without starting the show 4 times more.

    So many features user/ reader friendly missing makes this site almost unusable except for long reads. This is really is sad! Just go over to WAPO and choose Listen from the top nav bar and you will get the required feedback! Cannot believe you have launched such a miserable app. We have been regular readers if the NYT for over 50 years! You need to create s better site for our world clsss reporters! This is an embarrassment!!!!

    Something has gone wrong after the latest update. I keep getting an error message and have tried logging in multiple times. It seems to accept it but then just stays on the log in page. I have not changed my username or password. I tried removing the app and redownloading. Very frustrating.

  • Nice App for NYT Podcasts

    I purchased a NYT subscription recently and started using this app to take full advantage of it. It’s a nicely designed app with interesting podcasts I like to listen to while eating. I’m not sure if it would be as smooth an experience without a subscription, and there are still a few ads here and there despite me being a paying subscriber already, which is why I’m not giving it 5 stars.

  • Performance issues and Battery Draining

    The app continues to experience usability issues despite my device being relatively new. The app crashes if too many articles are enqueued. It takes seconds for some screen taps to take effect. And the phone runs hot with a fast battery draining when running. Please slow down the focus on getting AI read articles into the app, and please address usability.
