  • DO NOT PURCHASE

The control mind of Apple is to force people to purchase their products. I purchased this printer apple drivers took away options and features as promised on the box of this printer when I purchased it. The box all in one meaning COPY, PRINT, SCAN, FAX the forced drivers from Apple do not work for copy and or fax. As a notary I was embarrassed with clients I was not able to copy a document for my records so I can authenticate. I was not able to authenticate because I did not have copies of the original. Do not purchase printers manufactured by brother. As soon as this mac studio is up. No longer I will buy WOKE apple products.
  • Don’t buy a brother if you have a Mac!!

After I’d used this app to both print and scan from my Brother HL2390DW for about 2 years, I upgraded to iOS Sequoia (15), and while I could print from my computer, the app didn’t work for the scanner. I went onto the Brother Support website as directed by the app, downloaded a bunch of software, fiddled around, it still didn’t recognize my computer, so I called tech support. They said wait time would be 26 minutes; it was 40. Then the guy who finally answered went through various steps with me for like 30 minutes and then admitted that Brother machines don’t really work with Macs. The reason I can print is because I’m using AirPrint, and now Apple has this feature, Image Capture, that uses the printer to scan, so I should just use that. That is insane. Don’t sell what you claim are Mac-compatible machines, Brother, if you’re just having Apple software hijack your machine for you!

All of a sudden scan stopped working. After checking everything, making sure firmware up to date etc and getting a scan from Macs built in program, I come here and read the other poor reviews. I bought this 26 mths ago! Obviously it’s not the printers fault but a software problem. Get your act together!

The app is practically useless. Cant find brother printer connected to the same wifi after the ip address change. Options are so basic that even a college student would build much superior app than this.
  • Will not save orientation change

If I rotate a scan to be upright, the change does not remain when I save as PDF.
  • What happened to my scan to computer function

This printer and scanner used to work flawlessly, now it’s a useless piece of garbage. Scan to computer never works which is the primary purpose.
  • Mac sees printer, Brother doesn’t

Mac sees usb printer but brother s/w does not. Really deserves ZERO stars.
  • no access to files

as of most recent update, scanning results in an error stating the app doesn’t have permission to put things in the scan folder I have selected. In MacOS Settings, app does not appear in Files/Folders access pane, and there’s no way to trigger the app to request/allow access. So the app is literally unusable unless this is fixed. Sorry for the 1-star review, figured it’s the only way for the error to be seen and fixed. Thanks

I have a macbook os13. I was able to print through the app. I've used it once and it worked great.
