Description

LastPass Authenticator offers effortless two-factor authentication for your LastPass account and other supported apps. With one-tap verification and secure cloud backup, LastPass Authenticator gives you all the security, without any of the frustration. ADD MORE SECURITY Safeguard your LastPass account by requiring two-factor authentication codes when signing in. Two-factor authentication improves your digital security by protecting your account with an additional login step. Even if your password is compromised, your account can’t be accessed without the two-factor authentication code. You can even mark a device as “trusted”, so you won’t be prompted for codes on that device while your account remains protected by two-factor authentication. TURNING IT ON To turn on LastPass Authenticator for your LastPass account: 1. Download LastPass Authenticator to your mobile device. 2. Log in to LastPass on your computer and launch “Account Settings” from your vault. 3. In “Multifactor Options”, edit LastPass Authenticator and view the barcode. 4. Scan the barcode with the LastPass Authenticator app. 5. Set your preferences and save your changes. LastPass Authenticator can also be turned on for any service or app that supports Google Authenticator or TOTP-based two-factor authentication. LOGGING IN To login to your LastPass account or other supported vendor service: 1. Open the app to generate a 6-digit, 30-second code OR approve/deny an automated push notification 2. Alternatively, send SMS code 3. Enter the code into the login prompt on your device OR hit approve/deny request FEATURES - Generates 6-digit codes every 30 seconds - Push notifications for one-tap approval - Free encrypted backup to restore your tokens on a new/reinstalled device - Support for SMS codes - Automated set-up via QR code - Support for LastPass accounts - Support for other TOTP-compatible services and apps (including any that support Google Authenticator) - Add multiple accounts

  • What the heck?

I don’t know what’s been going on with last pass lately but it used to be I could be logged in on my phone, personal computer, and work computer and I wouldn’t have to re-login every time I moved from one to the other but now that seems to be the case and sometimes it seems my password stopped working suddenly and I updated and then it won’t be accepted on the other machine. The fact that there’s no real time customer support even though I’m paying for premium irks me as well.
  • It is possible to make things more difficult, but they would have to work at it.

Moving from old phone to new phone isn’t just a task, it is a full time job. Last pass has turned 2 factor authentication into 5 factor authentication when you include the need to log into my account on the PC in addition to the authenticator and the LP app on both phones. This doesn’t include the text message which technically maxes it 6 factor.
  • Impossible to sync between devices

Almost impossible to login on mobile or secondary device, app asks if you’re logging in and to accept, then the laptop asks for a code that disappears when you accept the login.

Nothing but bugs and browser lock ups
  • Dark Mode Icon Please

App works fine. Needs a dark mode icon. It’s been a long time since Apple introduced this, but still no update.
  • Clunky - Not Intuitive

Syncing across devices takes days - literally. Adding accounts is cumbersome and often lost due to multiple device syncing. Use flow on authenticator is not intuitive and is not part of an ecosystem
  • Does not work

Tried it twice and it appears to go into a loop
  • Going backwards

The application, LastPass, is making “improvements” which are making the application appear to be less efficient and more aggravating. The application is becoming a bigger pain in the &&&& than the problems it’s supposed to protect against.

I love the polish notification I receive on my phone when logging into the LastPass portal on my computer!
