Right Click Booster

Right Click Booster

By Hobbyist Software Limited

Description

Add useful commands on right click (or ctrl-click). Totally scriptable to let you add the commands you need. Includes actions useful for all power-users, and additional actions for developers. Right Click Booster uses the powerful new APIs in Yosemite to give you extra options when you right-click, or ctrl-click on files in the finder. Useful commands include... -Create untitled.txt at this location -Open file in Text Edit -Open this directory in the terminal -Toggle hidden files -Open a new Finder window at the current directory All of this is highly configurable, so you can tweak it to suit your workflow. ==For Developers== Show the status of files in your development directories. Status is taken directly from git - so it integrates perfectly with your existing source control. Add useful shortcuts to the right-click menu to speed up your development -Git add, Git pull -Pod install, Pod update -Increase build version number ==How Scripts Work== Right Click Booster relies on scripts which are run from your User Scripts directory. The User Scripts directory is part of Apple's security system. Only you can add scripts to this directory, so you control what scripts can be run. Right Click Booster provides a set of default scripts which you can install, or you can write your own scripts and use those.

4 things i install on a new work computer when i burn out the old one. 1.) Office 360 (Because I have to) 2.) Adobe CC (Because create or die) 3.) Right hand click (Because searching for the appis I use is a wase of my time) 4.) VS Code (Because thats why) Honestly though. This tool really is a game changer for my productivity and the sscripts ut runs are simple (for a developer) to edit and modify to run and open the programs i use over and over again. It is a great toool and has a home on all of my and my teams computers to help us get through our projects and tasks quicker.

Bought this iMAC at the beginning of this year moving over from Windows so it's been a 'getting to know you several months'.. I added this Right Click Booster because I was used to being able to right click with Windows mouse & while this app is ok it has a mind of it's own I really don't need or want that list of topics on the right click menu displays & can't figure out how to turn that off.. When I'm on Twitter & I want to r/t or click on reply the mouse doesn't respond as it should again I don't need or want that entire list it displays & wish it would respond in one click to the reply button.. Unhappy now with the iMAC too as a result of this.. Mouse is fully charged another PITA from Apple if this iMAC hadn't cost so much $$$ I would go and buy another Windows desktop although I avoided that because of Win10 OS.. I have also gone into the Apple settings for the Magic Mouse2 LOL & checked the settings for it on there & it's ok... Retired systems person....

Am a PC user, moved to Mac and actually enjoy the Mac, but there's a few missing things that this right click app has solved. Nirvana!

It downloads, it opens, it functions, but it doesn't appear as an extension in OSX High Sierra. I guess it's just a Yosemite app... because I can open it but I can't get it to do what it is supposed to do.
  • Doesn’t work for external drives

Surprisingly, it doesn’t work for files and folders on external drives! If I’d known that, I wouldn’t have wasted my time setting it up. This is a big limitation that really should be mentioned in the App Store description. (Buried in the support forum is a comment that says the developer is hoping to add support for external drives in a future version.)
