They split the apps for no reason and then let them stay broken and with less features. They literally spent time and money ruining their app instead of leaving it like it was. REVERT BACK!! Can’t even download your pics like you could in the original Plex app. At least it’s not crashing when you view a pic anymore…

The single plex app was fine. Now there is 3 of them? I guess if you only want to manage photos, music, or videos on your plex it is “nice”. But this app doesn’t allow for image download. The rating only stays within the app. I might as well use others photo tools now and keep my photos on the cloud because we know this is currently useless. Take the feedback from the reviews already and fix it please.

The concept is fine, an app to view your photos. Problem is either lazy or indifferent developers unconcerned with providing a usable product that matches user needs and wants. The silver lining is Plex is making room to be overtaken by better apps, if you’re already self-hosting, I would suggest immich.
  • Passive-aggressive vibe coding based on a crayon drawing?

Long time Plex user here. If you don't want to support photos and media, that's fine I guess. This app pretends to give access to photos/media in my library but it doesn't even provide the basic functionality from before photos/media was split out from the main Plex app. Please send help.

This use to all be one app. Why can’t you share and download. Should be and to update/name files and folders. Give tags.
  • Seriously flawed

There’s a fundamental problem with this app. It keeps losing connection to my media server and refuses to reestablish it. Regardless if I log out and back in, if I remove my library and readd it. Nothing works. I usually have to delete the entire app, reload it from AppStore, relog in and then relink my media server. Completely frustrating

This app was originally promising when it came out. But the lack of quality of life improvements make it terrible to use. I don’t use plex to download photos but to just view them and this app has some major problems. Any photo that you view is going to have a titlebar that take up a quarter of the screen/photo that gets really annoying. There is not setting to change the behavior to hide it like any other photo app. I was hoping that it would at least improve over time and get some extra features but having used it at launch and came back to as of time writing this review. The only thing they did was make it look a little bit prettier. I have since switched to emby (after trying out jellyfish first but that started to become glitchy in some parts of the app and unusable) it is a much better experience. Being able to filter photos by tags that are in the photo itself. Add tags to folders. Being able to set up the cover folder in the file itself instead of selecting every folder and setting it manually when the app on the server eventually crashes and needs to be reset. AND BEST OF ALL I CAN SEE THE WHOLE PICTURE BY ITSELF. It seems that plex just made this app so that they can side line any investment into photo storage part of plex and focused on tv and movie streaming. Which is sad because everyone else has already added everything that people want to there apps and they just need to copy them and combine it all together into one package. Just want to look up photos when I forget the title of the photo. And not have to spend days tagging everything and customizing everything only for the app to glitch out and have to do everything again.
