PAC-MAN 256+

This is a truly great game! But Pac-Man doesn’t turn left and right very easily… I think you need a small circle that you place your finger in to be used as a “joystick”. Still, amazing game! 5 stars!

UPDATE: They fixed the issues with “Staying Close” to ghosts. So I was now able to complete the game! But now there is nothing else to do. Wish o could keep playing! So overall I like the game. The issue I have is I cannot complete “staying close to ghosts”. I was able to finish a couple but after that I cannot complete the rest. And you need to be able to complete these quests to advance and get all of the quests completed. Does anyone know how to complete these?

For some reason, the “follow a cyan ghost for 30 seconds” does not work. The issue is that I have to complete that challenge to move forward so I am essentially stuck. I can not do anything and it’s pretty frustrating, I’ve timed it and everything and it won’t work whatsoever so I know this is an issue with the game itself. Please do something to fix this issue.

This would be great but the controls are complete trash. The least they could do is add an on-screen controls option bc the touch swipe control input sensitive/direction are garbage. UPDATE Came back to try again and found out that it is still garbage and I’m now considering cancelling my Apple Arcade subscription

This is my third or fourth time reviewing this game but it will be the final review. Game is fun, a couple of the challenges are brutal so difficulty can vary greatly, and ngl it’s pretty addictive. Unfortunately, I don’t think the devs/publisher care much about it. I dinged one star because it took them over a month to fix a pretty simple issue that completely blocked off a couple progression routes, and because of said issue, I finished 95% of the game without ever having access to two power ups. It has finally been fixed, and I was able to finally complete all 256 challenges, but it’s entirely too little, entirely too late. If there are future issues, or issues that crop up with this current update, then you will be waiting a long time for a fix that honestly might not ever come. Seriously, I’ve never heard of a developer ignore such a major issue for over a month after launch. And it’s not like they were working on different updates or other bugs; this has been the only update, and the only thing in it is the fix for the issue. So it’s pretty clear that it was launched with little to no plan for support after, just release and forget. At least they had the decency to come back and fix it, although I would bet it only got fixed because of w/e contract they have with Apple. The other star hit is for the insane cost to fully upgrade every ability, which is needed for an achievement. I don’t know how many hours i’ve put in, but I did complete all 256 challenges, and even with that amount of effort, it would take ~60,000 coins to finish upgrading everything. If you haven’t played yet and are reading this, I would ballpark that grind at easily over a hundred hours, probably closer to 200 hours. It’s ridiculous, especially on a platform where sooooooo many other games are available. I really want to be able to recommend this game, but I just personally can’t. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth over the whole situation. I would give it lower, but I do feel like I have to give them SOME credit; I did play it for dozens of hours and they did come back and patch the major issue even if it took them a baffling amount of time to do so. Overall just really mixed feelings, and you might as well just install and see for yourself if you like it. It’s “free” after all.

This is a really fun game. Great way to pass the time during a commute on mass transit. This may be a hot take… but I actually prefer this over the original PAC-MAN.

Overall great game. Could easily be 5 stars but some goals are glitched, which is frustrating because you can’t progress in some cases. It only seems to be goals that require you to “stay close”. Hopefully the devs fix this soon.

the specials that constantly pop up is annoying. i liked the game better when you had an option to pick your specials at the beginning of the game
