Have to fiddle with the Scroll speed to get it to start scrolling, causing distraction and need to edit the front end while you fiddle the scrolling speed. Have to run the scrolling speed UP till it starts to scroll, then try run it down again before text scrolls off the top of the window. HOWEVER, that said, once you get it running, it works well. Default video size is very large to start with for web or email purposes, I'll have to fiddle with that to learn how to change the default. For $4.99 it will serve my purpose as it allows me to at least keep my eyes focussed close to the camera lens, which is the Point!! And its certainly affordable given the unreal price of $99.99 for one of these, and even the more affordable pro versions offered at $15 and $25 with remote control functions for iDevices.

Needed app to develop short videos using my isight and macbook pro. Teleprompter is not elegant, but it scrolls text, and the video quality is great. Takes about 15 minutes to learn and to start producing videos. Well worth the price.

UPDATE: The app has been updated, and is getting better. It now scrolls automatically. The video quality is great (although the files made are too big) and the app developer fixed the problem with select all, so you can now use the command-a and it works as it should. I'm upping my rating by a couple of stars. I was looking for some teleprompter software that I could use with my iSight camera, Macbook Pro. I already own VideoCue, but the video quality is just terrible, thus I went looking for an alternative. iReview makes great video using the iSight. Everything looks terrific. However, the teleprompter aspect of the app is completely undeveloped. Essentially, this is a text field into which you paste text, and then you can change the font, size, style and color. But what it doesn't do is scroll automatically, so you have to use the two finger track pad gesture to scroll. And it doesn't block out anything behind the text field, so if you have other apps open, you'll see em'. And most maddening, when you try to select all using a keyboard command, up pops an 'About this App' window. I corresponded with the developer who was friendly and helpful. (He offered me one of his other apps instead, but I didn't have any use for them, so didn't take him up on them.) I gave him two suggestions (autoscroll, and fix the command for select all so it does what Mac users expect it to do) and he says he has already implemented them, and submitted the app update for Apple approval. Wish I'd mentioned the idea about isolating the app from background. Oh, and it crashes a bit, for no good reason. Once, as I was nearing the end of recording a 4 minute clip, and multiple times when I used another app and left iReview open. Videocue has a great teleprompter and terrible video quality. (I mean TERRIBLE...aspect ratios are off, and the look of it is grainy to the max) iReview does a great job with the camera, but the teleprompter is little more than a text field. I'm looking forward to the update. And if I like it, I'll come back and raise my rating accordingly.

I was looking for something to use when filming, unfortunately this doesn't even scroll the text....makes it tough to say more than you can fit on one screen. Nice app for just short pieces you want to record using your mac camera...but little else.
