Blackmagic Disk Speed Test

Why does the app start by showing dummy animations? Most of the screen is taken up by checkboxes and numbers that are not useful to me. Before pressing start click cog-icon to select a drive. Pressing start adds a thin red ring to the start button (ie RUNNING) runs a test and shows animations. Apparently the test repeats. You can stop by pressing the start button (imo should be labeled STOP).

Doesn’t test internal OS hard drive nor external Time Machine backup hard drive.

On an M2 running Sonoma when it stops, the numbers change... ?? they drop by about 10% or so.... so... which numbers are correct.... Also, unfortunate you can't program in a number of cycles, and have to awkwardly click the start button at the "right tiem"....

The only thing is it keeps going forever but you don’t need to stop it. Just watch it run 3 times and average the numbers out then hit stop

As others have mentioned, Mac OS says the drive was disconnected without being ejected as soon as you start the test, if they fix it, 5 stars, if they don’t its a ONE

Agree with “Brandyhawk” with these additions: 1) Option to change read/write meters from MB/s to Gb/s so that it’s easy to see how close speed is to interface speed. 2) Allow read testing for read-only drives. Great price!

Why does it keep going? It never ends or gives u overall results!!!?

App is great, just missing an option like OOKLA Speedtest.net uses which shows history of last run tests so we can compare very easy.

at the first view, it is not allow you to choice which drive to test. after 15 minutes discover, i found that, you have to select File, select disk tager. then you can choice you sd card. this funtion should be put on the app.

Crashes my External HD and just doesn't work every time I select it. Not sure what my true speed is for the HD and causes it disconnect from my mac.
