Description

Do you want your Mac keyboard to sound like a real typewriter? Or maybe you want to hear cool clicking sounds every time you press any key? If yes, then Loud Typer is for you because it adds sounds to your Mac keyboard. Every time you press any key, you hear a sound. By default, Loud Typer emits typewriter sounds. But it has a large selection of built-in sound sets, and in addition, you can create your own sound themes. You can also customize Loud Typer to sound differently in different applications. Loud Typer is loaded as an icon in the system menu bar. The main program window can be opened as follows: System menu bar -> "Loud Typer" icon -> "Settings" menu item. Note: You may experience sound delays when using external speakers (Bluetooth or USB speakers). In this case, consider using internal Mac speakers or wired headphones instead of external speakers.

  • Spacebar makes double sound and you can't undo it

I really wanted to love this, but unfortunately the space bar makes a double click and there is no way to adjust that, even when using a custom sound it automatically double sounds the space bar, so frustrating. Would have been perfect otherwise.

  • Free only for typewriter sounds

Please update the product description to mention you only get the typewriter sound for free and must pay to use custom sounds, or anyhting else available in the library. I did not like the custom sound creation interface, and I would like the ability to select a specific audio output device from the application settings.

This is such a cool App. I alternate with an actual typewriter to do first drafts. This app keeps the fun going. Whoever made this. You rock. Thanks CG
  • Couple fixes would make this shine

This is a really great app, but a few fixes would make it shine: 1. The volume between devices often needs to be changed manually. Headphones are quieter than speakers. Would be great to store the settings automatically based on the device that was plugged in so I didn't have to keep changing it... or at least put a volume control knob in the drop-down menu bar so I could do it easily. 2. Would be awesome to be able to change the global sound them from a drop down in the menu bar... or maybe allow for my top-five to be in the menu drop down so I can switch between them. Sometimes I get sick of one sound and just want to change it up a bit, but digging through the app tabs and menus is a pain. Otherwise, great app. Very responsive to my angry typing :-). Thanks!

I enjoyed using this app yesterday, immediately after I opened it, then today it stopped working except when using Shift and special keys. Nor can I remove the app from my computer. Going to application support requires registering on a site I don't know and thus don't trust, and the lack of clear instructions on closing and using increase my wariness. I'd love to use it, but . . . .
  • Updated review -- satisfying but slight delay

Originalyl I was having so much trouble getting one sound to work but I realized it was because I accidently added it as a sound theme. I can't figure out how to use that section, either. But other than that, the sounds are really satisfying and help me focus (I have ADHD). My only gripe is that there is a slight delay with many of the souds. It's also pretty pricey for what you get, but it's worth it for me and I'm glad it's a one time cost and not a subscription. I hope they don't change that and somehow improve the delay time.
