the Help file is no help as far as how to use the program. I quite by accident discovered how to enter a program. It isn;t the paper/pen icon in the top row it is the paper icon in the second row. It asks for a name and then you can clickon the folder icon in themfirst row, click on the name you used and THEn program.

I believe this is the only Basic implementation on the App Store. Go to one of the examples, click on the run arrow in the upper left hand corner and you can see the example run. You can learn the language by looking at the various examples and perhaps modifying them as well as via HELP. The GOTO n statement where n is a line number certainly does work, unlike what an earlier comment says. It is free so long as one does not create a big program and it even does graphics. I have only played with it for a few minutes, but for an old timer like me who likes Basic for quick and dirty programming as opposed to Python or Perl, for instance, I think this is great! One can find a manual for Minimal Basic on line if you do a search. This implementation goes beyond the 1970s era manual that I found.

I gave it a 1 star but I signed on to the BASIC community and got my question answered - on how to get started. The ansewr should have been provided in the documentation.

I can’t for the life of me figure out which version of BASIC this is, but regardless it’s a very limited version, as its missing simple commands like GOTO. Huge waste of money, and a disappointment as it appears to be the only classic BASIC compiler on the app store for OSX. Time to go find an non-App Store on application on the internet as usual.
