  • I have loved this for years—but recently

The app crashes after importing images and the only fix is to uninstall and reinstall- which is SOOOO annoying. The money for the app is still worth it. It is amazing otherwise- with some strange differences between apple, iPad Pro, and Microsoft versions. I have all three.
  • Decent tool but Mac version is limited

Probably one of the easiest home design tools to use, but the lack of keyboard shortcuts, and the limited features compared to the windows product unfortunately means it’s painfully tedious to dig into the details of a design. worth the money, though.

I’ve been using Live Home 3D Pro on both my iPad and MacBook Pro to design our future home, and it’s been an excellent tool overall. We were working with an architect who only provided CAD drawings without 3D renderings, and I didn’t want to pay an exorbitant amount for 3D renderings. This app has been a great alternative, allowing us to visualize our house, understand the scale of spaces, and assess proportions without breaking the bank. The quality of the app for the price is impressive. It’s intuitive for basic features, but I wish there were a more comprehensive manual or tutorial, especially for advanced features like working with exterior topography. For example, our house will be built with its foundation about 25 to 30 feet above the river level (depending on the season) and an additional 35 feet higher at the living level. I’ve been trying to replicate the exact slopes and terrain around the house to visualize views from various windows. This is important as we determine how far back to place the house to maintain an unobstructed view of the beach and the Columbia River. While the app provides tools for creating topography, navigating around the exterior and fine-tuning slopes has been challenging, and I’ve found myself getting "lost" in the process. I’m also exploring how design elements like a large second-story balcony, accessible from the bedrooms, will impact the view. Since the house has an H-shaped footprint due to a central courtyard, I want to ensure the placement of the balcony and other architectural features don’t obstruct river views from inside the house. While the app allows for interior walkthroughs, achieving precise visualization—such as viewing the exact angles of the balcony from different vantage points in rooms below—requires some effort. For the price, I don’t expect professional-level precision, but these are areas where improvement would be welcome. The biggest challenge I’ve encountered is working with stairs. I wanted to try incorporating a visually interesting scissor staircase that bumps out the front of the house, but the stair tool is quite restrictive. It doesn’t allow for much experimentation, like cutting into the second-floor space to test placements or customizing stair shapes for unique layouts. Instead, you’re limited to pre-designed templates and have to adjust your layout to fit them, which can be frustrating for more complex designs. Despite these challenges, Live Home 3D Pro is a powerful and affordable tool for visualizing home builds. It handles dimensions, ceiling elevations, roof pitch, window placement, and other key details effectively. While there’s room for improvement in advanced features like topography and stairs, I’d still highly recommend this app for anyone looking to design their home without spending a fortune on professional software.

I'd love this product, but have run in to too many situations where the developer appears to be disinterested in helping discover how to do some basic things. Try to find ANY description of adding water to a pool design. I found an explantion for a pit (needed for a pool), but spent a lot of time with trial and error to understand what their weak documentation offered. Google/YouTube searches for help will land you at the competitors videos, because these developers haven't bothered. If you're aiming for designing a split-level home, don't start here. I've done some cool stuff with this software, but get frustrated with the so-so support/documenation.
  • Good for cheaply visualizing 2D floor plan ideas in 3D

Sending our builder multiple 2D floorplans that don't work well over several weeks got solved by this program. I could easily create a floorplan and a whole house design, including playing with roof style, simple decor, and surroundings, see it in 3D and realize immediately where the flaws in the design were and try out multiple different iterations of my creative ideas in minutes to hours. It's not DWG compatible which our builder needs to make a plan he can use, that's the only downside, but hey, it's $50 flat fee not $1500 subscription.
  • Needs two monitor support!

Been a user for a few years now. I'm still waiting for two monitor support. A great app that's limited by screen real estate. Having your 2d plan on one screen and your 3d view on another would be game changer. Please please please?! :)

We've been using the app for professional projects, digital art, conceptual designs, and consultations for clients. We've been using this app since it first hit the market and it's come a long way! Keep up the good work. I appreciate it. Only thing missing is the ability to do hvac, plumbing, and electrical. Which is not an issue for most of our work.

The only reason it is getting 4 instead of 5 is that I was unable to download the additional accessories that I paid a little extra for. The program is so user friendly and much better than the one I used to use.
  • Excellent Conceptal Design Platform

The tools and service take a bit of time to learn and navigate, but once you get the hang of it, the program offers alot of amazing features. Highly recommended for conceptual home and structure designs. Great job Team Live Home 3D.
