  • Enjoy!

I enjoy this program very much. It is easy to use and I love the ease of use and functionality of the program. I use all of the extras like borders and backgrounds.
  • Well designed

I am producing a family history book, including loads od text and lots of pictures at high resolution. The program can handle so far, everything that I've thrown at it. I find it versitle and easy to use. Even when I had trouble with a feature--like wrapping text around a rotated object, the help menu worked fine in helping me learn how to do it. I haven't gone to print yet, but the previews that I have printed look great.

I had been searching for the perfect program that was not complicated. I found it right here with Swift Publisher 5. For me, it's the perfect match. I highly recommend it.
  • Great alternative to Adobe and Publisher

    By Seancasm
It's so nice to actually own software rather than deal with a subscription. Got this because my daily computer is a Mac now. Love Publisher because I'm really familiar with it, but now I love this. I primarily use it to layout pin back button sheets and I only have one gripe--when cropping images in Publisher, it allows me to resize the overall crop size AND the actual image within the crop. Super convenient when manupulating images to specific button sizes. I can do in in Swift, I just have to do the crop first, then the resize. I do like the accuracy of the sizing options much better than Publisher. Overall, this was a solid purchase.
  • Clunky but remarkably good results

It takes a little effort to work out how to use this app, and at times it can get very frustrating, BUT, and it is an important but, it produces some remarkably good results. It is not very intuitive, and more explanations and instructions are definitely needed, but once one has struggled for a bit, the rewards are very, very satisfying. An example: having inserted an image into your document, you can double right-click on it and a menu will appear with a whole load of ways you can alter the image. Unfortunately, though, there are no explanations as what those functions might do, such as “False Colour.” There is no indication of what this function does nor of what you are supposed to do to operate it. It took me ages to discover that if I clicked on the little vignette of the image, I could change the colours. Why it is called “False Colour” is quite lost on me. However, having discovered this little gem of a function, I use it all the time, even just for fun. This has been my experience with many of its functions. Once discovered, they prove to me wonderfully useful, but you just have to go through the bother discovering them. If there were instructions, even a simple phrase, this app would be much more successful. It’s as if its full potential is limited perhaps by a language barrier or an assumption that everyone has a common baseline understanding of how such apps works. Another example: you cannot print a “Master Page”. I created a whole document as a Master Page. I wanted to print it to see how a hard copy would look like, but it was not possible. There was no notification that I had made an error. Again, there is nothing that explains that Master Pages are unprintable templates that have to be applied to a Content Page before you can print them. I wasted more than half an hour doing battle with my computer and my printer before I noticed that all the other documents I could print were Content Pages and thence deducted that it is possible to print only Content Pages. I have bought a very good app that requires an instructions booklet which is not included. Also, working with documents in A4 is wonderful: making a booklet in Eurpean paper sizes works perfectly, but I am in the USA, and making booklets in Letter or Half Letter sizes does not work well. The document does not fill the space set out by the margins. Other than these considerations and little glitches, it is a very good app.
  • OH-MY --- I LOVE THIS!

After switcing from PC to Mac, I've been missing MS Publisher. I tried just about everything else under the sun and as a last resort, figured what theheck let me try the silly looking ladybug program. WOW - took me all of about 3 minutes to figure it out. It makes MS Publicher look archaic. LOVE THIS PROGRAM Change the Ladybug image and you might attract more aduts.
  • Decent

Switched from microsoft publisher to this years ago for reasonably professional handouts for my students. It is great, and so much easier to learn than adobe, especially for someone like me who doesnt need all those features. Enough photo features to edit some, but i use a different program for cropping, editing backgrounds, etc. Color selection on 2D/3D word art fonts could be better. I would give five stars if it had spell check - the most irritating thing about using this program. Scared to update. Last time I updated nothing would open on the new version, or would open with bunk formatting. Will this happen again?
