  • Best journaling app for me!

I’ve tried a lot of note taking/journaling apps over the years. I needed something between Evernote (too many features I don’t need) and Apple’s Journal app (only on iOS, too simple). When choosing a journaling app the key was finding one that I’d actually use every day. Day One hits that sweet spot for me.
  • A Blessing

It’s been a blessing because that is what I’ve decided to do with it. Log my days, my nights, my good times with my bad time sand watch my growth. That is why I call it a blessing.

Up! Up and away, this is a great conduit and canvas for thinking and creating many things... including but not excluse to words I use Daily journal to help organize and simplify my intentions. Love how it is always available either on ipad, iphone, imac how it automatically goes into password protect. Means no worries. It links with instagram so I can feel confident at some level my low-effort journaling is building a well populated archive of how life is happening. everything is logged and time stamped. There are multiple media options in creating entries. Its subscription based and widely used so you can be confident it doesn't have bugs as OS's and devices upgrade... 5 stars

This app has been the best from day one. My whole world is in this app. The search feature alone makes it worth keeping everything in this app. Please don't ever stop existing!!! I tell everyone to get Day One!
  • The Best for Me

I have used many journal programs and even tried writing one myself for several years. So, I have a lot of ideas about what good journaling software should be. And honestly, Day One does not fulfill all of those desires for what my ideal of good journaling software should be. But, on the other hand, Day One is much closer to my ideal than anything else that I have found. The aesthetics are very nice. It is effectively cross-platform since I can write on the web from my Windows computer. There are multiple refinements that it has made through the years with features that you don’t notice until you need them (like import and export). The big new deal is AI, of course, and there are other journaling apps that are ahead of Day One in that regard. But they don’t have the basics down like Day One. So, being that Day One is a good, solid, capable, beautiful, and affordable journaling app, then this is the best option for me.

Generally very user friendly. Little quirks like access to font size and easy changes not great.
  • Happy user since 2009!

I am probably one of the oldest Day One users. A very happy one! Love the interface, very clean and functional. Use it everyday for my Mantras and journal writing.

Couldn’t ask for an easier way to get my thoughts down and keep different journals organized easily. My only complaint is with myself not journaling enough!

Love having this journal on both my Mac and iPhone. I write some sort of entry at least once a day and have for a couple hundred days in a row now. Very excited to be on a journaling journey, and this app, with its excellent export capabilities, gives me the confidence that I can migrate away some day if I want and not lose my data/thoughts. The ability to export so robustly actually makes me much more comfortable trusting the app.
  • Great Journal , needs better table support

I’ve been using Day One for years on my iPhone, and more recently on my Mac and iPad. I love the security of the end-to-end encryption and the user interface. But I really wish Day One would add true full support for tables. Tables are essential for some of my personal tracking/logging, and Markdown tables are cumbersome to use.
