Day One.

Loved Day One until I wanted to print a simple recipe. Reading what others have said, seems like I’m not the only one. I don’t want to create a $45 hard cover book. Just wanted a place to save and print a recipe, meditation…But I can’t simply print what I wrote. Guess I can take my iPad to Staples and see if they can. Bye bye Day One. Sad.
Almost a 10/10 App

The only thing missing from this app is handwriting. They have a “drawing” mode but it has soooo many problems.
The drawing mode has no lines or grids and no way to add them, once you leave the drawing area you can’t edit it at all, all of the current marking are permanent, and there is no good way to import handwriting from paper journals.
If this app had a proper handwriting mode it would be the journaling app.

Would appreciate feedback from users of this app. I downloaded and have been attempting to use it each day, however when journaling each time I return to make a new paragraph the font size drops to very small. The instructions indicate I might have to highlight each paragraph and adjust settings! Uh, no … does anyone else have this problem?

Handwriting options limited

I have used this app since 2012. I love it and think it’s perfect in almost every way. However, I stopped using it several months ago when I got a new, large iPad. I’ve found handwriting in the native Notes app with the Apple Pencil Pro to be much more enjoyable. I particularly appreciate being able to hand write using a fountain pen mode. It feels like writing on paper.
I realize I can use scribble mode in Day One, but it feels clunky dealing with it translating my handwriting into text and correcting the inevitable errors, which becomes irritating. It’s a nice option to have handwriting convert to text, it’s just that I’d rather hand write with the options I’m given in Apple Notes. If Day One were to add these options I’d switch back to it in an instant.
Helps me track the day events to keep me on track weekly.

I use it mostly as a time log of events. It has a lot more.

I have been using and loving Day One for years. Ido not understand the change you made today. It makes navigation so much harder. I can’t stand it!!! Please give me the option to go back to the way it was. Thanks.
My favorite app

There are not many apps that hold as much value for me as Day One does. I have started journaling a long time ago. It is part of my life. I like writing by hand. Pen on paper is irreplaceable for me in many circumstances. For journaling, I ended up going digital. And my app has been Day One since it first came out. I can put my thoughts down so well in Day One and enrich it with media if I feel like it. I set up prompts that help me practice daily gratitude. And the app is always here. Never intrusive. Never “pushing” me in any direction. Simply helpful and well thought out. It has come a very long way through the years, and I trust the team will continue to support all of us who use it.

I have written in my journal for what feels like my whole life. I started using day 1 because of its photo options & to keep a digital record of places I’ve traveled. I love the tags and the location tracking features. I love that the journals are searchable. I eventually upgraded to the paid version so that I could add videos, and add multiple photos at once. And so that I could have multiple journals (sorted by year). I love it! It’s the only app I pay for and I love it! It has even replaced my paper journaling.
