  • Don’t buy a full year!

I made the mistake of buying a full year of this app. First off, it’s clunky and difficult to use. Installing and removing required an act of Congress. I’m disappointed with its feature set. I didn’t realize that auto renew was on and now Apple won’t reimburse my purchase. Please, please do yourself a favor and pay a little extra for a monthly subscription… Otherwise it’s impossible to get your money back when you don’t want to use it anymore… and you eventually won’t want to use it anymore.

The app automatically charges you while it is promoting free trial. It deceives the consumers and refund is not even an option. It charged me $99.99 automatically without me even trying the app. WHAT FREE TRIAL??!! Stay away from this unethical company!!!!

App did not perform as described, no one to help. Very hard to customize settings
  • WiFi issue

Sometimes my kid’s time on this app turned out to be unlimited - I think because of the WiFi signal not being stable in our home... I wish you built in a little “window” with the exact time when the child’s grant ends. I tried two other applications that seemed to be even worse, too complicated and not blocking apps/ not working as expected - so frustrating, I deleted them and requested refunds. And now your app seemed to be PERFECT (except the 2 issues mentioned above), so I’ve came back to the OurPact subscription.
  • Horrible Customer Support.

Expensive App and the worst customer service. They only do email responses and the response time is slow. Then they stop responding.
  • Buggy

The app is really buggy. It has Face ID support in theory but makes you enter a password every time you open it regardless of that.
  • I wanted to love it…

…but it just didn’t do what I needed it to do. I wanted to give my son an hour of screen time each day, and I wanted it automated through OurPact so I didn’t have to be the bad guy and on top of it constantly. Specifically, wanted him to be able to listen to an hour of music or podcasts. Unfortunately, OurPact’s shut-off mechanism doesn’t work for audio: if a user turns on music with their time allotment, but turns off the screen, the time they spend listening doesn’t count against the allowance. After just a couple days I realized my son was on his headphones longer than an hour (and he sure wasn’t going to point it out to me!). I got in touch with the company to ask for help, and this was their response: “This particular issue is a bit of a challenge for us since it's related to Apple product functionality and how iOS devices report applications to our software. We hope to have a fix for this in a future update... In the meantime, we suggest you send a manual 'Grant' to your child's device, then after a few minutes send a manual 'Block'. This should shut them out of Spotify or whatever app they were trying to access. They may try again, but from our experience, usually, they give up pretty quickly and decide just to call it quits.” I had suspected it was an Apple thing, not an Out Pact thing, but I had hope. Here’s how I responded: “In response to your suggestion: "we suggest you send a manual 'Grant' to your child's device, then after a few minutes send a manual 'Block'." This is exactly why we got OurPact in the first place: to do away with the need for "granting" anything. As a parent trying to keep my kids safe online, I am making myself insane trying to give my kids an hour of screen time *OR* listening time each day. When it is me who is getting asked for time, and me who is setting a timer for an hour, and me who is disabling the kids' devices when an hour is up, I take on a part-time job as a police officer. I don't know about you, but as a parent I have to be the bad guy plenty enough already. If, on the other hand, the device was set up automatically to give an hour of screen/listening time when the child wants it, to count down and shut off automatically, it would offer me peace of mind *AND* not require my engagement. Win-win! So....if that's not something OurPact can do, then I'd like my money back. Because that's definitely how you promoted it.” After that, I’ve pinged OurPact twice but they haven’t responded, and I haven’t received a refund. I’m especially unhappy about this because setting the app up on my son’s phone was outrageously invasive and time-consuming. I don’t know that there’s any real solution to this problem out there yet. Not OurPact’s fault, but they need to be clear on the limitations in their advertising.
  • Not user friendly

We had to cancel our account before the free trial wad over. The app is difficult to learn how to use. I accidentally turn my child’s phone off and I couldn’t get back on. The support got back to us, but couldn’t help us with the issue.
