I love this app, I can’t put it down. So much healthier than doom scrolling on social media.

I loved this app when I first subscribed because of the broad range of content - lots of advanced math and science. Recently, however, they have discontinued and eliminated courses without replacing them. I won’t renew my subscription because of this - I miss the challenging content.

I was skeptical about this app but I’m actually learning a TON after transitioning into coding. If you’re thinking about it for a new career path, just go for it.
  • Generally good, but a few major kinks need to be worked out

After hearing about brilliant from a lot of YouTube sponsorships, I decided to give it a shot. From what I’ve experienced in the past month- it’s pretty good! The courses offered are a nice and easy way to learn stuff I would’ve never bothered with in a bite-sized way. I like how it’s presented in a gamified way for me to come back daily, and I’ve made it something to do whenever I get bored. That being said, there are two major things I think are flawed with this app: 1. The premium subscription 2. Course updates Starting off with the subscription, I understand they have to make money somehow to keep servers running and all, but $25 a month seems pretty extortionate. If it was priced closer to $15 then it wouldn’t be too much of an issue, but given how much stuff is locked behind a paywall, I’d say it’s quite hard to justify this price tag. And with the course updates… they’ve left a bad taste in my mouth. Oftentimes on their website it’s stated that new courses are constantly being added, but from what I’ve experienced more courses were being removed or cut down than added. Since the start of January 2025, these courses were removed in the time I was using the app up until now: event-driven programming, physics of the everyday (cut down into circuits), classical mechanics, electricity and magnetism (also cut down into circuits), special relativity, group theory, and math history. Likewise in the premium tab, several courses are listed but aren’t found anywhere on the app. I don’t see why they would be removed, especially given that they don’t even appear to be partnered courses. While this wasn’t mentioned and is more of a subjective piece of criticism compared to the more objective ones above: I wish there was more stuff on here about chemistry and biology. Brilliant seems pretty geared towards engineering students, and while I don’t necessarily mind that, I wish there was something that also fit the tastes of other people planning into medicine and the like. Overall, Brilliant is a pretty good app, even if I had some negatives that I had more to talk about than positives. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking to get a quick lesson if they were on a bus or at a dmv, but for more serious learners there are a few important things that need to be worked on.
  • Great, I wish it would go over mistakes from past sessions

It would be good reinforcement if it pulled up a pass problem you answered incorrectly and the. Brought it to you later as a reinforcement of weak areas.
  • Weird Notification

Received a notification “Rats Take Star” I assume this is something to do with the holocaust, just weird that the owners of the app would send me this notification. Please mind your own business and be more professional. I may stay use the app but won’t be sending any money lol

I’ve downloaded this app several years ago. Couldn’t afford the premium subscription then, until few days ago. Yesterday I bought it! I was so happy to get full access with premium subscription just to find out there’s no more that 30% of info/courses for any topic. So no matter what course you choose - it will have some basic school info and that’s it! I’ve kindly asked to give me a refund within a few hours later. Rejected me with nonsense AI replies. I’ve tried to get any human response, but obviously AI bot rejected all my questions with “we are sorry” and “we understand” “but still can not help with your refund”. I’m sorry but the company who lies about their product is a joke.
  • Amazing app can you add biology?

This is the most accurate, informative, educational, and useful app I’ve ever opened. I have no complaints whatsoever, yet I do have a suggestion. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn’t a biology course, because it is a passion of mine. This a large suggestion, and if biology is not added, it will not change my love for this app.
