  • Missing something…

Do I not have an updated version? I live a very busy life, like most, and have only been using the “purchased” app a few days now, but how do you log something you missed after the fact? I’ve googled (Cal AI) and it’s like I’ve got a generic app because the instructions are not the way the app reads.

I like the app and doing the 3 day trial but when I close the app and go back in it gets stuck and you can’t click on anything. Then I have to close the app and open it to move around the menu. Trying it out for one more day before I get charged.

The app is great. I do like the benefit of simply taking a photo and being able to get all the info on the food you’re eating, but I’d also like for it to show you other nutrients besides carbs, protein, and fats. Also having a barcode scan would be the best feature as well. Overall the app is great.
  • Won’t allow a calorie surplus.

Originally I put in that I wanted to gain muscle, put in my current weight (120) and my goal weight (135). The app kept telling me “losing” 15 pounds was an excellent goal. I tried switching my goal to “gaining weight” which still told me I was losing weight. Both options put me at 1500 calories, which is absolutely not sustainable during a bulk. Very disappointed.

  • Easy to calculate calories by pictures

So far I am very impressed. Trying to calculate calories on other program seemed very difficult for me but taking a picture of everything I eat and have the Calories automatically calculated is incredible. Take a picture of a full plate of food and it calculates the calorie count almost perfectly. Extremely easy to use.

You can’t manually enter information and the scanner doesn’t recognize everything

The calorie goal does not go as low as I wanted to and I understand it’s a safety and risk thing but still I’m a small person so I don’t need a lot of calories and I am looking to lose weight so therefore, I do not think that this can support my goals

Great app! The free version has been sufficient for me - tracking is very easy, no annoying ads. Just the act of tracking makes me eat mindfully all the time. Having "streaks" and earning badges is helping keep me going. You can set reminder notifications for yourself as well. I love the journaling feature to document my progress.
