    As a concept the game is fun. The execution however is one of the most horrid shows of greed by a company I have probably ever seen. Firstly it takes all the aspects of Kingdom games and gacha games and ramps them to the absolute maximum with pay to win mechanics to the point that if you do not pay you simply cannot even enjoy the game as you will be bullied and sank consistently by whales. Even the costumes for the ship that in other games are simply cosmetic, they also give an advantage to your ship with sailing speed and attack and defense. And the worst one to me personally is that you cannot even acquire the third builder to upgrade stuff by any other way than paying real money for it. Avoid this game like the plague if you value your money and time.

    Look, y’all: this is a spectacular game. Lots of stuff to do, great gameplay, great sound… it’s got it all. But understand this: unless you spend significant real life money, you will be a bottom feeder or low-average at best. It becomes an endless grind to upgrade and make even small improvements, and the folks who spend $$$ are the top players. It has **zero** to do with skill. It’s all about how powerful your ship is, and that is determined mostly by how much you spend. It IS a spectacular game. But I’ve spent months on it, have participated and been a good teammate, and I’m nowhere near even the middle of the pack.

    Don’t bother downloading unless you have daddies credit card to keep up. Just like all the new games pay to win not free to play. Fools give their money to others with nothing in return and entertainment is nothing after the fact. They even squeeze resources never enough farm spots at beginning to weak for level five and 6 ands that’s all you can find. As game progresses those are replaced by low level farms not leaving enough high resources for the high levels that everyone reaches. Lots of cheats and scams by where certain buttons are so you will miss hit and spend your hard earned loot where you didn’t want to spend it. Bring your credit card this isn’t cheap!

    There are a number of reviews that say the same thing. It can really can be enjoyable, if a bit repetitive and grindy, if you find the right group. But… There is pay to win in almost every mobile game, but SOC takes it to the extreme by a lack of any sort of balancing. The biggest whales are untouchable. They can raid, attack and disrupt large organizations, events and whole seasons by themselves with near impunity. 10-20 solid, strong and veteran players trying to take a port or tower together? Not if ONE super whale has anything to say about it - the group will get wrecked by the 1. A mechanic where numbers helped scale things to level the playing field a bit would be fantastic and introduce fun opportunities for strategic and tactical planning by creative groups against the big spenders - but I doubt it ever happens. Again, it is fun with the right group. But, unless you plan on investing absolutely incredible sums of money on a mobile game, you won’t ever be able to truly compete as it stands today.

    This is a typical FunPlus money grab with all the same issues that plague this company…unethical practices, garbage customer service, etc. As for the gameplay, it’s fun for the first two days while there are things to do like clear fog, explore ports and meet new people. Then it’s just extended periods of downtime while you wait for other areas of the server to unlock. Nonstop waiting followed by a few hours of tasks is all it is. Every season is the same thing, just different themes and new heroes/items to buy which further differentiates the spenders and F2P. You can buy tickets to change servers during the seasons, which is good because servers die fast and hard in this game. The developer does nothing to discourage or stop harassment. People will openly dox others and the customer service response is that the victim needs to send photos of their passport to FunPlus then they’ll remove the doxxed message. But they won’t ban the harassers so they just continue to do their thing. All game developers are greedy but FunPlus consistently takes the cake across all of their games for enabling toxic, predatory game environments. Would not recommend this game or any games by them.

    You can tell when the pay to win kicks in and it’s quick. I’ve invested enough. Then they just scam you mid way through the event with a cumulative purchase. So whales like me and others who already spent don’t get nothing for it. Because not enough people are spending so they have to throw extra incentive out there and forget about their big players. Hogwash of a game. Gathering is dumb and way more annoying since they changed it. New titan rally is dumb and a waste of time. Just adding and changing trying to stay cool and relevant and milk people for money and just making it worse everyday. I’ll take a full vip13 refund. Thanks. Don’t tell me to join a active alliance as we were the only one active in my server nerd
