Description

The AI-powered app that helps you plan meals using what you already have. Scan your fridge, import recipes from anywhere (TikTok, Insta, cookbooks, screenshots, text), and stop wasting food. It’s like magic, but with potatoes. Why us? 1. Satisfying meals from almost-forgotten things. There’s magic in turning the last bits into something legit. We help you do that, every week. 2. Just point your phone at the fridge. We’ll do the rest. Recipe suggestions. Weekly meal plans. Grocery lists. All from what you already have. Yes, really. 3. No more lost recipes. Ever. Links, cookbooks, sticky notes - we import them all. Searchable. Plannable. Dinner-ready. Like a recipe vault, but less dusty. 4. Reward yourself with… a streak freeze. Or a Kill Bill potato. This is not your average planner. This one evolves when you meal plan like a pro. 5. The entire household, on the same page. One app, one shared grocery list, one unified plan. No more “Did you get the onions?” texts. Subscription information Subscription is required to unlock app features. Payment is charged to your App Store account at confirmation of purchase. This is THE app I’ve been waiting for since the dawn of the internet! So easy to use and no more combing through 50 sites to find that recipe I made a few months ago that I forgot to save. AND I can share it with my kids. Love the creators for figuring this out! Thank you so much!!

This app could be reasonably decent, but it needs help. First off– the logo is dreadful. Second, please make a real iPad app. I have no intention of using my phone when I’m sitting down at home planning meals based on what I already have. Third– provide an easy-access print-ready display option. I store my recipes on Zotero and don’t want to have to do fiddly photo stitching to get an image I can attach to my files. Fourth— the second recipe I found was missing crucial information. The first step was to prepare the caramelized nuts, and from the way it was set up, I was to add every ingredient to the nuts, including lettuce, cheese, oil, water, etc. Luckily, I found out I could click on the author's name and go to her site to find out what she really meant. Fifth— this is a pie-in-the-sky wish. People don't seem to understand how to compose recipes, and I'd love to see this app or any other provide tutorials. Recipes have traditionally been written with a standard and succinct vocabulary, but, oh my! The things I see online! In the aforementioned recipe, I was instructed to “make the nuts” rather than “prepare” the nuts. I suppose it sounds unimportant to anyone who has found most of their recipes online, but it irritates me. There are so many annoying extras- who needs to be told the first part is the “ingredients “ and the second is “how to make,” “instructions for cooking,” and the many dozens of other ways to clutter things up. The individual steps have just as much excess verbiage. I’ve been cooking since I was about 9 or 10 years old and am old enough to remember Nixon’s resignation and his election. I don't need or want excess stuff in my recipes, so I too often need to rewrite them to make sense. Maybe authors should provide the recipes the way they like them and the traditional, streamlined versions.

The ability to import recipes makes it really easy. I’m inputting my recipes quickly. It detects the end of a recipe if there is one above it. The only downside is you have to cover the top one for it to detect that recipe. Really no big deal though.

Not sure how this app works. Asked to review it before I could use it. It’s like a server asking how’s your meat before you can even take a bite. So I only clicked a few buttons and it didn’t seem like a good experience. Maybe if I had the chance to use the app before being asked to review it I’d have a better experience.
  • Never shows recipe

Seems like it might be useful except fails to deliver. It finds a list of recipes based on the ingredients I have, but selecting any recipe freezes the app (force quit needed). I give it 2 stars instead of 1 because it shows some promise if bug were fixed.
  • Use it almost every day!

Consolidated all my recipes into this app. Love the suggestions from scanning the refrigerator and entering all the items in my pantry. Also had an issue with an update and they fixed it within 30 minutes. Incredible!

The link import is pretty seamless. Across different platforms. It is worth the money
  • It’s not working

    1. It could not find any recipe. Even a burger was not found. 2. Import from Instagram doesn't work. It can't “read” video for sure. Can't find the recipe in the text. 3. But they already ask for money.

OH, a potato! is a game-changer for anyone who loves to cook and reduce food waste. The app's ability to extract recipes from YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok is impressive. I love the meal planning and reminder features, which make organizing my cooking so much easier. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to make the most of their ingredients and discover new recipes!
