You can get the same thing but better in a variety of free apps. Don’t fall for the marketing.
  • Good, but needs some UX intervention

Former WW member, new to Noom. Liking it so far, but the app needs a makeover. Some of the navigation is not intuitive, and there are too many clicks to do simple things, like tracking a meal.
  • Quite easy but…

On one occasion the app didn’t work. I wouldn’t mind that had it not worked twice until later in the day, not in the morning. Another thing is that, when inputting a recipe, it would be good if there was a place to input the portion size for the particular recipe. First because it’s a reminder for each meal what a serving size (portion size) is since it’s different for each recipe. Second, I would like it if one could save along the way when inputting ingredients before saving the entire recipe. On numerous occasions I have lost my input information before finishing inputting the entire recipe. Other than that, the app works very well and has helped me stay on track. Thank you.
  • Love it

  • Charges and Ships for Meds When You Don’t Need Them . . .

I have 8 weeks left of medication. The dr promised no more meds would be billed or shipped until I had a check in. Noom disabled my account after I asked them not to, because I will not let them charge my credit card $887 for more meds I don’t need at the moment. 7 mos of data entered in the app lost. Still waiting for a supervisor to call me back.
  • Good Yet Expensive

It’s a great way to help you lose weight. You enter the different foods and drinks you consume each day and Noom keeps a list of what each food contains as in fats, carbohydrates, and protein so you can see what foods are good and beneficial for your health and what foods you should cut back on eating. They have diet professionals you can ask questions with to help you along your way to your weight loss goal. They have exercises by personal trainers you can follow along with to workout at home. I have been a member with Noom for a few years and yes the App helped me lose weight. The downside is the price $196 every 6 months. Before I was injured and lost my job I could afford the program. Now that I’m on a fixed income monthly, to have this app take out the $196 and not notify me they are doing so was wrong. It’s embarrassing getting to the cashier in the grocery store to find out there is no money left in my account.
  • It’s okay, needs improvement for the price

Note: long and detailed review. I’m coming into my second week and as someone who has used a lot of fitness/food tracking apps, I think it’s just okay. Pros: the lessons are great, actually rooted in psychology and seem to be helping me stay motivated and accountable. There are some red flags for disordered eating, so just trigger warning and be aware. Nothing too negative but I’ve worked really hard to overcome some of these triggers and a few are present (cheat days, low emphasis on fiber, and not a lot of lessons on adding green foods to an orange food, as an example.) The fitness classes are good so far, I really like how many yoga options there are and they do a great job of offering quick classes or more long form. I like the color coding of food although sometimes it doesn’t make sense to me, I appreciate feeling the urge to add more green while not viewing orange as “bad”. Cons: my biggest annoyance is the accuracy of the food tracking. It either over calculates calories grossly or under calculates, and there are so many common brands or foods it can’t recognize. The barcode scanner doesn’t recognize most items either, so you have to add it manually. I’ve used lose it and MFP for years, and I also put several recipes exactly into ChatGPT and has different calorie results. The recipes (with premium I think) often miss steps and instructions. The serving sizes are so irritating when you try to add your own meal. It only gives you the options for servings, vs being able to choose cups, oz, grams, etc. The coaches are okay, not great and not often reaching out proactively. They kind of wait for you to come to them. Overall, for the price I don’t really think it’s all that worth it so far. But to be fair, I know a lot of the psychology behind this, so I was looking for more accountability, gamification, and a strong calorie tracker. I don’t think I’ll continue after my 2 weeks is up because the price doesn’t feel worth it to me.
  • Very buggy on my iPhone 15 plus

The past few days using this, the screen has frequently frozen requiring a restart of my cellphone. Also, if I leave Noom and then come back to it later, there is no way to go back to the home page without restarting the cellphone. Also, it won’t allow me to do more than one module at a time—when I am at the lesson map, it will take me to the next bubble, but I can’t click on it to continue learning without, you guessed it, rebooting the phone. I am committed to Noom, because I used it successfully back when Noom was new. The app worked great back then. What’s happened?
