    I absolutely despise this Vimeo iOS app. Instead of showing black pixels outside the aspect ratio of a video (like any normal video player), this Vimeo app plays a blurry version of films in the unused pixels. In other words, if I made a movie that has a 16:9 aspect ratio, then the extra pixels on the sides of my phone will play a blurry version of my film instead of just showing black pixels. Or if my movie is in 2.39:1, then it will show a blurry version of the movie on the top and bottom. Basically, any video that you play that isn’t the exact aspect ratio of your phone’s screen will be displayed incorrectly. Guys, this is a BIG problem! You’re completely altering the presentation of my work without my consent! I don’t want a blurry version of my film to be playing behind my movie. It’s super distracting and it looks terrible. Any pixels outside of the aspect ratio of my movie should just be BLACK PIXELS. You have no right to change the artistic intent of my movie. Also: WHY ON EARTH is the default setting to play a movie with subtitles??? That should NOT be the default setting. Subtitles should only be enabled if a user decides to SELECT them. I swear, whoever designed this app has deliberately gone out of their way to compromise the presentation of filmmakers’ work. It’s inappropriate. I hate this app now.

    I use Vimeo professionally And the offerings of why you should use them have gotten worse, more complicated and have provided less value- Vimeo as a brand has proven they don't care about creators in the process so. Thanks. Will continue to use daily until the issue is resolved by a company that doesn't sell off to them. Gl with your projects, this is not a distribution platform.

    I’m a creator and finally consented to using this app to create my tutorials. It doesn’t work. I even paid for pro. I recorded a 10 minute video. Only 1 and it says it can’t be uploaded that it exceeds my weekly allowance. What? I haven’t even uploaded one video. And it won’t let me password protect it. It says to upgrade, which I did. But, when I click to upgrade it says I’ve already done this. I am so unbelievably frustrated. I have recorded two tutorials and they won’t upload. A waste of my time. I cancelled my subscription. Don’t waste your time.

    The media player on the app looks horrendous compared to the websites player. Everything is desaturated and noticeable banding even in the highest settings. I definitely wouldn’t want to share a video of mine when the quality is that bad.

  • Weird “color gradient” on left/right?

    When watching full screen on iPhone, if the video/film does not go all the way to the edges of the phone, there is an out of focus “color gradient” outside the confines of the film, that seems to be some average of the colors in the film at that moment, and it is SO distracting (imagine like how news sources duplicate and then blur vertical videos that they want to play in a landscape video format) — for an app / site full of filmmakers, this decision feels super antithesis to the work you watch on Vimeo (don’t flame me btw for watching things on my phone, sometimes that what you got). Please please please undo whatever this decision is.
