The software integrates the radio and computer nicely using an ethernet connection. I’m using a Mac mini M4 and the experience is excellent. Tech support is superb and the experience of operating the radio/computer is excellent. IF you have been using digital software in the past, this will be a breeze, with a small learning curve…. That is to unlearn all the previous complications. Again, the integration is top-notch! I have both my !C-7610 and IC-9700 on SDR-Control and pleased with the experience. Enjoy!

I now have this for my iPhone, iPad, and iMAC (M3). This is an excellent application across all three platforms. Yeah, it costs money.. but you get what you pay for and this developer has worked hard to build an outstanding product. I love the Apple universe and there really is not a-lot out there for Amateur radio. The interface is excellent and easy to setup. The software is updated regularly. Make sure you are aware that you have to purchase the versions separately for iPad, iPhone, and MAC OS. If you enable iCloud, your logbook and configurations will be saved across all of your devices. If you use QRZ, you can easily download and upload your logbook entries.

I’ve been using this since early 2024 with my IC-705, and it just works. I can run SDR Control on my Mac, my iPad or my iPhone. I can WSJT-X/Z on my Mac or run the in-app version depending on what I feel like doing. I also have a Flex radio, and my logbook syncs between the apps. Marcus’ service is top notch, and I’m hoping that this will be available for the IC-7760 when it is released.

Marcus is doing wonderful things for Amateur Radio on Mac. Mac is often neglected for Amateur Radio, but Marcus is leveling the playing field. He also has programs for Kenwood, Yaesu, and Flex! This program is wonderful and worth the price. Of course, we could all find things that we'd like to see added, but this has most of what most people want in a single package.

I bought this to use with my Icom 7300 on a M2 Mac mini. I'd seen some cautioning reviews, e.g. about a poor FT8 implementation, which had me hestitate given the price. I'm very glad I took the plunge because this app "just works" overall and I've made a lot of FT8 QSOs with no issues. Even pushed me over the edge for my first DXCC award. Given how easy this makes controlling the radio I'd say it was actually a good value.

I use it to connect to my IC-9700 at home when I'm away. Its perfect for chewing rags on 2m SSB. If the developers are looking for a new challenge- svxlink is VERY clever software but it was written for different hardware. a plugin for ip radios would make it absurdly practical.
  • Astoundingly good

I've now purchased the app for my Mac, iPhone, and iPad to run my IC-705. This is a very professionally made application -- I've been teaching software engineering for 20 years and know good code when I see it. Marcus, thanks so much.

Wih just an IC-7300, I have the (almost) Flex radio experience. The only real limitiation limitation is the IC7300 has just a USB interface. I am happy to learn FT-710 (etc) support is coming. This could make a "proper" fully remote station turn-key for us Mac people. The spot/click/tune experience is really great. Thanks Marcus for continuing to build on your terrific product. (W1OM)

One of the reasons I ogt the Icom IC-9700 was because I knew Marcus had developed this app to let me control it. Works great!

Very simple to install and configure compared to jtdx and wsjtx for ft8. The UI is clean and much easier to read on my Mac than jtdx and wsjtx. I had a couple questions that support quickly responded to and got me back on track following the well documented user-guide. I'm really enjoying ft8 and this app has been fun to use.
