The app had worked great for me and the turnaround time for getting the code back from submitting my information was super fast. 5 stars!
  • Useless for this Belgian resident

Due to my work being international I don’t have my Apple ID registered in the EU. This makes using covidsafe app impossible from what I understand. If a large portion of a countries population can’t use this app I imagine it makes the overall performance of the app and the data it collects underperform. It doesn’t look like there are any plans to address this giant discrepancy.

Available on latest IOS. Must follow instructions and receive certificate code from Belgium website first! Took 1 day for me. Uploaded and received QR code. Was able to upload new QR code to AntiCovid afterwards. Thanks for your work!

The app works perfectly from the United States or anywhere. But it doesn’t tell you that the easiest way to get the Belgian code is to register at the government’s website. Within 24 hours after sending them your information, the Belgian government sends you a code with very good instructions in multiple languages on how to enter that code into the app. It is a very easy process except they don’t really explain that the easiest way to do it is by getting the code from their website. Go to https://coronavirus.brussels/en/belgian-cst-for-foreigners/ and scroll down to fill out the form and upload your documentation and vaccine card. Much thanks to DangerSquirrel for the review and the heads up!

From the US, I applied for the Belgium digital Covid certificate via the coronavirus.Brussels website where there was information for foreign visitors (Belgian CST for foreigners section.) I filled out the information, uploaded my digital vaccine information and passport information. It asked for information about the European vaccine name, so I had to select both Spikevax and Moderna. You may want to look that up for whatever your vax is. It took only a couple of days for them to validate. everything, and sent me back an email. I also gave them my phone number which is important. When I received the email it told me to download this app, and gave me a code to download the certificate. I did not need to download any other application. However I did need to provide the last four digits of my phone number, although I only received a code via email. So remember to enter a phone number when you apply. I entered the code and digits, and immediately had my information linked. I don’t know about the problems people of had been asked to download a different app, and I didn’t download any test results. But I was able to do this directly from United States after getting the digital certificate from the website.
  • Not user friendly for non-EU and non-Belgian travelers

I am from the USA. There is no way this application recognizes or allows uploads of CDC vaccine cards. All options of obtaining an account requires a Belgian account or National ID from Belgium. I was able to upload a COVID PCR test using the last 4 digits of my phone number and a prescription code for the test (texted to me since I filled out the Passenger Location Form) that was required coming from a high risk country (despite being vaccinated + boosted), but the negative PCR test was only valid for 72 hours and therefore my QR code expired. It was a bit frustrating since I was following the Belgian government rules (tested day 1&7, again despite being vaccinated), but the QR code and app did not make sense. If the government wants me to test day 1&7, why would my test/QR code not be valid in between the testing? Why expire at 72 hours when I don’t have to test again until day 7? I don’t completely blame the app because I think the government needs to provide more guidance/rules to allow recognition of non-EU vaccination documents, but until then, it’s not user friendly for foreigners that are trying to follow the rules.

As a international Belgian, it’s a terrible experience to only allow signup through Itsme. Itsme doesn’t work at all if you don’t live in Belgium, and no-one can help you set it up.
  • Useless

As reported by others , the app only works with Itsme which I can’t get with my American Apple account. It should be mentioned … Deleting app….
  • below average experience

itsme is only available in BE AppStore. This is discriminative.
