Beware of the Ai identification feature, its performance is generally very poor. If you are new to birding and looking to use the app for identification rather than just logging sightings, I’d pass on this and use iNat or a field guide instead. There’s been many times where I’ve put a photo into the ID feature and it’s given me some crazy answer that was obviously inaccurate. I think it’s a fine app for tracking sightings, and I like the ease with which you can upload photos and join challenges. However, be wary and know that the ID feature is not good.

I found Birda a little after I found Merlin and EBird, but I love it just as much, if not more! Great app overall, especially if you’re looking to connect with other birders everyone’s very welcoming on this app to birders of all ages and levels. A few problems though… it takes a while to load when I click on unidentified and it will only let me post 6 photos at a time which is reasonable for one bird but would it be possible to post more photos for big birding sessions? That’s pretty much it, thank you so much Birda!

Tons of features including bird sounds. Great for logging sightings and identification.

Using this with my kids. It’s fun, but I can’t understand why their app has different buttons than mine. I have feed, challenges, discover, and profile. My son has explore, community, challenges, and profile. Please help me figure this out!
  • Nagware?

I just downloaded it to my iPhone and was basically forced to sign up for a 7 day free trial. That’s really annoying. I read that’s for Birda+ but should that be an option for users to consider later?
  • "free" trial instantly charged my card for $44.47

Rip off! The app seems cool enough but that trial instantly charging me is BS
