Description

Guide Asterion and Theseus out of the maze in this visual novel inspired by Greek mythology. Place your phone in the light to talk to Theseus, or in the shade to talk to Asterion. But be careful - the more you help one of them, the more the other gets lost. Help them make the right decisions as you face up to lots of different dangers, discover the secrets of the maze and perhaps manage to set them free. Their fate now rests in your hands. Will your cunning, wisdom, perseverance and skill be enough to help you make the right choices? • Play the first chapter for free (about 1 hour of play) • Unlock the full game with an in-app purchase • A new gameplay based on your phone's light sensor • A contemporary adaptation of the myth of the Minotaur and the labyrinth • Actions that directly influence the way the story plays out • An immersive story full of twists and turns with 8 alternative endings • A rich universe with 5 chapters and 10 mazes to explore • A dark and mesmerising atmosphere Note: Unmaze uses your phone's front camera to adapt the experience to your light environment, including changing characters during the game. The purpose is only to analyze your light environment, no data will be recorded. The game cannot work without your permission to use the camera. An interactive fable by Frédéric Jamain and Nicolas Pelloile-Oudart, written with Thomas Cadène, the author of the comics Summer, Fluid, Alt-Life... and illustrated by Florent Fortin. • Good concept, ehh characters

It’s an interesting concept and technically sound, but the characters come off as melodramatic and selfish in my opinion. Sure, it’s reasonable to have these characters have some enmity that gets explored later on, but from the very get go they’re attempting to monopolize Ariadne’s presence, even as there are no stakes to Ariadne’s plan to take turns beyond needing to stay put for a moment, which they don’t even do, even given the implicit reassurance that they’ll be back. It would be more reasonable if there was something that forced them to move, but it reads much more like them freaking out over a situation that no one forced them into while trying to throw someone they don’t like but still know right under the bus at all times. I get that they’re supposed to be like, immature, at the start of whatever personal growth that needs to continue taking place, but as it stands, they’re just annoying to talk to. (Also the all caps at times just comes off as someone throwing a tantrum in a group chat more than actual drama.)
  • Great game, definitely worth four bucks.

The art in this game is really good and there’s a lot of it, and the story is pretty good too. My biggest complaint would be how the main gimmicks is implemented, there’s no reason other than marketing that this game couldn’t have just had a switch rather than make you hold your phone in the light or dark. It’s just kind of awkward and it doesn’t really increase immersion. If you want a game that better incorporates this kind of thing play “Maginary”. However the game itself is still really good.

This game was amazing! I love the concept and the art! Game play itself isn’t always super engaging, but traversing through such huge mazes was challenging enough to keep me going. The mechanic of using light to switch between worlds is so clever and unique, and the mystery behind this universe had me hooked! The story between all three characters was so interesting, and the plot twist at the end was such a shock, and overall I couldn’t put the game down! On the other hand, the characters had a tendency to annoy me. Ariadne’s speech wasn’t always consistent. Within two lines of dialogue she would act ruthless then sympathetic, and it made it difficult to relate to or even understand what she was feeling. The writing in this story could use a lot of work… Regardless, I finished the game in one shot and thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s definitely worth supporting and sharing with others, and I’m excited to go back in and check out the other endings/locations I missed!

I’m not able to open the game and get into it before it takes me fully out of the game and I’ve tried reinstalling it but it continues to do the same thing
