Description

Bark Kids is the free child companion app for both Bark and Bark Jr. To use it, you’ll need to have an established Bark account and install Bark Kids on your child’s device. Here are the features this app enables: SCREEN TIME MANAGEMENT Families can set healthy time limits and create schedules for when their children’s devices can connect to the internet (through both cell service and Wi-Fi). WEB FILTERING Our web filter lets you select which websites your child can access on their devices. You can allow or block specific sites — or even whole categories like streaming services, online gaming, sexual content, and more. GPS-POWERED LOCATION TRACKING Bark’s robust location tracking enables you to track your child in real time on a map. You can even find out if they’re stationary, walking, biking, or moving in a car. CHECK-INS Check-Ins are an easy way for families to get peace of mind when their kids are out and about. Rather than sending a "Did you get there?" or "Where are you?" text, you can rely on a GPS-based location confirmation from your children to verify that they've safely arrived at their destinations. It can even give you step-by-step directions via Google Maps so you can meet them where they are if necessary. PERSONAL ACCOUNT CONNECTIONS The Bark Kids app allows kids to connect their own accounts to Bark’s monitoring service (not available with Bark Jr). By allowing them to connect directly to our monitoring service, they get more privacy without having to share their usernames or passwords. HOW BARK KIDS WORKS WITH THE BARK PARENT APP Download the Bark Parent companion app to manage your child’s entire digital world - Monitor texts, apps & social media - Create custom screen time schedules - Block websites & apps - Get insights into online activities - Track location WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING - "My wife and I LOVE Bark. We've had some tough but productive conversations with our 13-year-old son. It's proving to be extremely valuable." — Josh L. - “It’s just another set of protections we as parents give our kids for the digital environment (or as my 10-year-old calls it, a “cell phone seat belt”). My oldest is a 9th grader, and while I trust her, I’ve come to realize through the alerts that some of her friends aren’t truly her friends. It’s led to some amazing conversations about choosing friends wisely and recognizing toxic people. While she wasn’t for Bark at first, she’s since said she’s grateful that I saw those messages because it reaffirmed what she was feeling but didn’t know how to verbalize without sounding sensitive.” — Bark Parent - "Bark notified me that my young daughter had unknowingly revealed her phone number to strangers on Twitter. The fact that Bark notified me was impressive and led to an informative discussion with her the same day." — Jon B. - “Since Bark alerted us to the suicidal language used in the Google doc that was being used in a chat document with a friend, we have seen both a pediatrician and a licensed counselor. We are hopeful for a positive outcome. Thanks to Bark for letting us peek into our child’s mind!” — Bark Parent - “This app is a lifesaver! It has allowed us to catch so many “red flags” in the content my kids have accessed on their devices and in their interactions with friends and other people online that I wouldn’t have ever known about otherwise. The big difference between Bark and other “Parental Control” software is that Bark allows your kids to have so much more privacy. It doesn’t show you everything they do, but sends an instant alert regarding any activity that might be concerning. Highly recommended!” — Bark Parent With Bark, you can help keep your kids safe both online and in real life. Try it out for seven days absolutely free! Everything is super well done, but some of the songs on my Spotify that don’t have cuss words or anything inappropriate are blocked! Some of my own songs are blocked and they don’t have any words in them. Please fix this!!

Hello I recently got this app installed onto my phone and I am discussed this app provides no privacy to kids and uses a 3rd party service to decrypt two way or group verified chats meaning anyone can get the text messages including the developer of this app do t believe me? Crypting a message means it’s unable to be seen by anyone but the two chatters so if you want your child to be kidnapped and possibly harmed for life keep this app next after I used a computer software it turns out that the phones OS (operating system) is being so pressured that the phone could destroy itself and possibly catch fire so teens here’s why to do if you parents install this app: First check the service, is your phone getting hot fast and apps slowing look for that first then text someone and see how long it takes if it takes anymore that 5 seconds to send then that’s bad see if typing is slow an call a friend if it rings one time then auto hangs then it could be premium but not sure then check for ringing or bussing during call or do voices as if you being heard you will hear voices that’s not yours or the other callers that and that means that’s is illegally recording your phone call Next use your phone less I know this may be difficult for some teens but if your parents notice then ask just say “ oh yeah the phone keeps lagging extremely and kicking me out of apps so ima just give up on this” your parents might take the phone or ignore you now what your going to do is ignore them at a extreme level such as walking past them and not doing what you love most if they ask you can say “ would be nice if I have my privacy to myself and not to anyone” or say “ I love how anyone can see what I write because bark sells my information Lastly if they don’t uninstall the app then take a final straw go to school come back if they work from home go to your room and sleep they will probably try and talk to you what you need to do is say your getting bullied because this app rang my phone and kids found out you app a parental control app and now you hate your parents then repeat this process until your parents feel they won’t get care in the future and might get put into a nursing home then they will hopefully uninstall the app but if they still don’t just ask to go to friends house leave your phone at home in a obvious spot and if they ask why you didn’t take it just say “ sorry I don’t like when people can see where I am especially anyone” if they force you to take it keep airplane mode on they can’t use bark if the internet isn’t on also I would recommend to run a app that adds to slowing down the phone but bark does perfect That’s almost the end what our going to do is act tired more a more until you can’t sleep and say sorry I just thought bark was gonna send my stuff you weirdos then walk away Sorry kids if you have to deal with this I hope y’all get better oh and tell a lawyer because bark can get sued for using AI in a childcare app and selling children info.

I’m extremely disappointed in Bark’s parental control system. I had sexual content fully turned OFF across all modes (school, free time, bedtime), and explicit content was still accessible on my child’s phone. When I reached out to support, I was told that content can still be accessed and that Bark mainly sends alerts. That is not how this product is marketed, and it creates a false sense of security for parents. If the system is not designed to fully block explicit content, that needs to be clearly communicated upfront—not discovered after a failure. As a parent, I trusted this product to protect my child, and it did not perform as expected. I would strongly caution other parents not to rely on Bark.

It bricked my Amazon apps on more than one occasion, alerts on random things that don’t need to be alerted on, my phone battery is cooked because of this app, my mom complains about getting too many notifications on my location, and it used my location 279 times in 3 days, told my parents it thinks i might be using twitter even though i would never bc I don’t like Elon, and while it did keep my friend from hurting themselves, it sucks. You need to be more like gabb. Lock in bark.

This is the worst app of all time. It slows down my phone to an obnoxious degree. I had to wait eight minutes for the App Store to open just so I could leave this review. And there’s a complete invasion of my privacy. This is the worst thing ever. I hate it so much.
  • Please get rid of app

I am a kid and I hate this app because it goes onto the kids phone and it doesn’t allow them to have any privacy and me personally I do not like that one little bit cause I do not so I do not like my parents invasion on my privacy and they don’t trust me a little bit so please delete this app from everywhere cause foods cause kids are sick of it. None of us like it now of us like being invaded and and I hate it so much please and I wish I could delete it but then my parents would get notified so yeah that doesn’t help one bit bark.

My parents downloaded this app on my I phone and it basically won’t let me into any my social media apps and it won’t let me delete the app if you know a way to fix this let me know.
