  • Beans Navigation

I don’t understand why FedEx uses the Beans app when GroundCloud already exists. Beans could be a solid tool if it offered true in-app navigation, but having to leave the app to open Apple Maps makes it far from hands-free. GroundCloud is much more user-friendly and driver-focused — everything stays in one place with real turn-by-turn navigation. That makes it safer and more efficient since drivers don’t have to mess with their phones on the road. In my opinion, any FedEx driver looking for a reliable, truly hands-free system should use GroundCloud instead. It’s smoother, safer, and designed with the driver’s workflow in mind.

Beans has never been a perfect app however a little while ago they decided to take all the apartments and make it appear as a single stop which you need to inspect in order to figure out where to go, the problem is beans often messes up and won’t combine all the stops so when you inspect it you may skip over a couple other stops and have to go back, it’s just such an awful idea and I have no clue why they implemented it in the first place

The app has no clue on how to set up my route and needs an option to move stops individually
  • no way to move pins?!

There is no way to tell beans a stop is misplaced on map. The best you get is if your so far away it asks you if you want to permanently move the stop to where you are now. It needs an option to just move it in case the location is close but still off by just one street for example or if you realize a stop is misplaced before being there, you might forget in the mean time and arrive at the incorrect location and chastising yourself for forgetting when you actually did realize the pin is off place earlier

For pretty much any App out there, if it has a five star review it’s most likely paid for in order for the App in question to seem as good as possible for potential customers. Just like any other business. Beans route does work at times to get the job done. The problem is that it does not work correctly 100% of the time and whoever worked on the GPS portion of the App was apparently drunk at the time. Bugs in the program cause issues with closing stops for no reason, leaving them on your screen long after closing them out. The main screen(s) often glitches showing multiple pieces of information at once. It’s also prone to random crashes. While the crashes are annoying to deal with in the middle of the route while driving, they are also a blessing. For unknown reasons these App crashes allow the App a restart. Often these crashes/restarts clear up any and all bugs. As for the GPS. The in App GPS works fine for major highways and roads, smaller roads is where it starts falling apart. Connecting roads that have no connection, falsely instructing turns on roads that do not exist, and way too often giving instructions to turn down the wrong road to reach a location. You can setup the App to switch to the more accurate Google Maps instead, however, this becomes a pain very quickly when having to bounce between Apps. The App does work though… well enough to be a passable grade in a Programming Course at a small College.
