  • Great app, way too many notifications.

Wanted to have notifications to keep up streaks. I would get 3+ notifications a day and got one at 10:40pm while trying to sleep. No customization of what kind of notifications I can allow and that was an immediate turn off. Otherwise great content.
  • Scam pricing

I found that "sponsored" discount prices from my favorite YouTubers have a discount on a different base price than if I tried to purchase directly, basically offsetting any savings. I messaged the company and they admitted they try out different prices on different demographics just to see how much they can get away with. Immoral business.
  • Free to download, Paywalled to use

I heard of this app through Legal Eagle’s video, and the concept immediately interested me. I was thrilled to replace my doomscrolling with comprehensive interactive lessons on topics that interest me, so I downloaded immediately. Then, I see that I have to sign up for a 7 day free trial. As i do not have the disposable income to sign up for subscriptions, i figure “whatever, i’ll use it for a few days and then never again I guess” and I try to start my first lesson. However, I can’t even access a lesson without putting in my card information. While I still think the concept of this app is awesome, it fails to acknowledge the reason that so many people don’t spend their free time learning, because it’s inaccessible due to paywalls!! The people who can afford this app can afford to spend their disposable income on resources like books or classes, but the people who cannot afford these things are exactly the people that need technology like this to be free! Putting information behind a paywall is, historically, the reason that class dictates education level, and this app is a perfect example of this.

  • WTH!?

Sometimes the “review” questions are ridiculously obscure, seemingly meant to be trick questions. Like judging you on minutiae, rather than concepts. It can be annoying.

They set you up with all your interests a customizations then crash you into a paywall of either $100!! a year. Or $16! a month. Never got any further than that. Just be transparent and upfront about your pricing that stands behind a good quality product. I’d be more open to it, feels shady otherwise. I value the time/design/money/effort that goes into stuff like this- just be upfront about it. Figures, since an instagram ad persuaded me to download.
  • get rid of the streak feature PLEASE

i don’t know why this hasn’t occurred to anyone here, but the streak feature needs to be able to be shut off. i don’t want to use this app whenever the streak gets messed up. and it also doesn’t count you as using the app unless you finish a whole section. if there’s a streak feature it should be counting using the app at all. have you ever considered your users feel like failures when they can’t keep the streak up? it makes me not want to subscribe to this app at all. please make it a toggle feature. i’m considering unsubscribing as it stands. i’ve already recommended this once when i unsubscribed the first time. but i’m definitely at a point again i don’t want to try with this app. it’s impossible to feel good about using it. if you consider that some of your visual learners might struggle with depression, making this a game you have to win doesn’t work. i just want to feel good about making progress at all. but your app doesn’t count all progress as progress. it’s just some of it. that’s lame.
  • Worst type of UX

Nothing worse than an app that grants you access, guides you through the initial steps and forces a sign in, only to halt your progress and ask for a sub before even experiencing what the app has to offer. Garbage UX and a waste of my time!
  • You have to pay for this app?

I literally thought this would be a great way to learn. Especially since I have ADHD, I thought this would be a good way to get mini lessons to learn and retain information better on top of going to school… but they charge you after taking an assessment. How is this fair to people? Not cool. I wish I would have read the reviews first. Maybe I would have seen it sooner before downloading. Avoid doing what I did, check the reviews and download if you want to pay to use this app.
  • Improperly Charged

I clicked on an add for 50% the annual subscription but then I was charged $99.99 which is the full price of the annual sub. Please refund me the $50.00!
