I’ve been using regular lingodeer and have been a member FOR YEARS!!!!!! i don’t regret any membership at all. this company is absolutely amazing and cares about their learners.

This app is essentially flashcards. While the original LingoDeer is a fantastic app, this is a weak addition. While LingoDeer continues to expand, this app remains with a limited number of languages. A larger issue, Font size being unreadable, no high contrast mode, ect. The device settings don’t affect the app visibility. Small (size 9 ?) colored text with low opacity on gradient colored backgrounds is terrible for visibility. No way to adjust or remove the various beeps and sound effects. the general lack accessibility features makes this app not user friendly.

I love LingoDeer because it gamefies language learning (making it easy and attractive like they say in Atomic Habits) and because it has a German interface. German was the 1st language I learned, and learning Japanese from German reinforces my German fluency. By checking of these two boxes at once, by killing two birds with one stone, it justifies the time spent (making it satisfying).

Games that help review vocabulary and grammar. Lots of different options from the standard pick the word to words in junks. Not sure how the levels relate to the Lingodeer course but they are similar just more. The lingodeer + lingodeer plus combo is pretty awesome tbh.

The reason I got it is to get fluent. I promise you will I am learning fast
  • Better than Duo

While duo has them beat in marketing, LingoDeer is more helpful when you want to learn the language to understand it. When you get something wrong, it gives you the grammar reason or syntax reason why which duo doesn’t (unless you pay a bunch). I think the voices are also very clear and easy to understand and helps for pronunciation.
  • Good but could easily be better

Users can’t give feedback because the “Contact Us” option doesn’t allow you to actually send a message… As someone with degrees in computer science and education with a minor in psychology: It would be helpful if there was a little flash card section before the games that gave an optional overview (can be skipped) of the words (written in learning language on one side with audio of pronunciation and translation on the side you tap to flip) in the game you are about to play. For games involving grammar rules a card of tidbits would be helpful. If you implement this than you would be able to use another’s feedback about providing context (사과 as apology vs an apple or providing alternative forms of a word) You know what would make this game even more incentivizing? If you could earn coins for the packages (not through purchases, earning only) and a user could exchange those coins to buy themes for the game play or could help the deer build a house or could dress the deer. For example: 1 coin for every word correct and double the coins for a word for the first time a word has been mastered. During the games you could help the dear by show users progress of helping the deer complete his route (how well the level been mastered).
  • Excellent Japanese pronunciation.

I love duo but this app has a far more engaging interface for vocab than duo does… that said, it has vastly superior voices than duo, whose characters sometimes have pronunciation problems. Use both for great results.
