Description

Rhythm Trainer is a series of fun field-tested exercises for mastering your essential rhythmic skills no matter what instrument you play. Practice 15 minutes a day in an individual session. Test your rhythmic skills. Get hang of the metronome beat. Learn to repeat different rhythms. Improve your sight reading skill. It won’t take long to see that the app is much more efficient and exciting compared to conventional exercises along with a metronome. Whether you practice alone or with a teacher, Rhythm Trainer will help you to: • Develop a sense of rhythm. • Sight-read rhythm notation. • Accurately play a rhythm from notes. • Hear mistakes in a rhythm by ear. Rhythm is the heart of music. Learn the skill once, play rhythmically forever. SUBSCRIPTION PRICING & TERMS The Rhythm Trainer offers an auto-renewing subscription for 4.99 USD per month. Very easy to use
  • Incorrect notation

Rhythms are often written in a non-conventional and frankly confusing manner which makes it a very poor “trainer", and frustrating to sightread. 8th note barred to a 16th followed by 2 16th rests followed by 8th note barred to a 16th on beats 1 and 2? Why? Is there no staccato 8th note option? Even if there is, it’s a tapping game: why the need for such articulation? Musicians aren’t used to seeing things like this. It’s confusing and unnecessary.

I love this app, it is great but when you go to the learn part, there is no countdown for when to start clicking and it throws me off so much. PLEASE add a countdown.

  • Good for my students

Very helpful for getting my piano students to internalize basic rhythms. I wish it had a section with half notes and whole notes. I would absolutely buy the app to be able to use for more than 10 minutes, but paying $5 a month is definitely not worth it in my opinion
  • Poorly thought out

This app does not give you enough time to see what rhythm is coming up. Musicians read ahead of where the music is to be able to execute on time. You cannot give me the upcoming measure on the downbeat of that measure! Waste of time.

  • Learning Rhythmics

The Learn portion of the app is great. The Practice (which seems to have no level select), and the Perform needs work. I recommend making a level select for Practice, and an infinite loop option for Learn. As for now, for me, Practice and Perform are too difficult to make use, and the Learn portion makes it difficult to put what you are learning into practice.
