  • Hate the interface, but a good app nonetheless

I’m on the brand new player track and have been using it maybe a month now. This app is so much better than the Fender app I tried before. My only real complaint is the interface. I HATE it. It’s a bit confusing and a little hard to navigate to the bonus material. I also found myself accidentally skipping a chunk of the first section and had to circle back. I also dislike how when I replay a lesson, it still gives the tips before the track starts. The tips are fine the first time, but annoying by the 5th time.. and you have the skip them manually each time. I also dislike how when you’re playing at a slower speed and restart the song, it jumps back to 100% speed. I generally play through at a slow speed a few times first, and then score well at full speed much more quickly than I would have otherwise. Yes you can loop, which is nice, but I’d also like to just hit restart and jump back to the beginning without having to adjust the speed each time. Plus you can’t hear the song options before playing them, so if you don’t recognize the titles you just have to play the lesson blind. Please, please make the user interface better!

I wanted to like this app. I went through the first lesson and found it useful. The next day I went back to start on the second lesson, but the app wouldn’t let me because it said I hadn’t finished the first. I didn’t want or need to repeat part of an easy lesson I was ready to move on - not a productive use of time, so I deleted the app and cancelled my trial subscription. I also found the navigation clunky and confusing. I had to scroll back and forth too much in trying to figure out what I’d done and what was upcoming.

this app is amazing, it is. but if you get the free plan (the only thing i can afford) you can only do four lessons at a time. it’s super annoying because i just want to play play play, but all the guitar apps i’ve tried do this exact thing.

I first got this app. It was amazing. I got to tune my guitar and told me which way to turn the knob and it got me started. but then after a while, the tuning area completely messed me up. I’ll say four small turns up and then I’ll do a tiny little turn then I’ll say I’m too high by 40 notches then without me strumming anything I’ll just say 50 60 70 when I’m not even making a sound I’m about intermediate. I can play a lot of songs and this was helping me do better with changing tabs faster, but…….. after I did the first beginner lesson, I was like OK now I am gonna go to stuff tomorrow my level but then I couldn’t open anything. Couldn’t go to any songs can do anything unless I subscribe to it and pay $130 a year and that’s a little much I still think it’s a great guitar app but don’t think it’s a little much for $130.

Cool app. Looks fun and easy to use. Can’t figure out how much the subscription costs before signing up.
  • Where’s the subscription price???

I downloaded the app and was surprised to see that although it repeatedly asks you to sign up for a subscription the developers never actually list the price tiers in the app. I had to Google it to find out how much it was monthly and annually. Seems like a major oversight when your goal is to onboard people at specific price points.

You have to pay 40 dollars just to use the app. 20 dollars to use it and ANOTHER 20 dollars to get access to the songs. Also the tuner is trash. And it doesn’t pickup the sounds in the songs. I wouldn’t recommend tbh. Just stick to YouTube. Better tutorials than these stupid guitar learning apps.
