    The app does not connect consistently to the garmin app. Would be a lot more fun and less frustrating if you could watch your progress live through the day.

    I am a DIE HARD stepbet girl. I’ve been doing them for years with no breaks, sometimes would join 8 at a time. In the last 2-3 months, the app has become pretty much unusable as a garmin user. Every time I try to join a game, it says “cannot calculate goals. Enable Garmin Historical Data access.” I have resched out to support for months, and there has been no fix. The only suggestion is to “keep trying.” Every now and then, it works on a random occasion. But I can’t check every single day and have missed so many games I wanted to join. I unfortunately won’t be renewing my membership this year, because what’s the point when I can’t even join games anymore?

  • Glitchy and takes forever to sync

    I have written in about this issue for years. This app continues to be glitchy and takes forever to sync with steps. Just now, I spent 20+ minutes syncing my steps and nothing. It is so frustrating and I wish they would actually fix it one of these days.

    This must be a computer hack rating! This app is terrible! It has connection problems all the time. You have to write them and send pictures to prove you walked the steps. The payouts are around .30 cents literally!!! Not worth the aggravation. I can get motivated some other way.

    We had a group event where everyone put in $40 for a six week bet. At the end, no one got any payout except their initial investment despite 15% of people dropping out. So step bet took the entire losses and congratulated us on ‘winning’ our own money back. While we knew it wouldn’t be much money, we were all under the impression that stepbet took a percentage of the money people lost, and considering the interest they make on our money, a percentage of just the losses is reasonable. But they took all the losses and paid out nothing in winnings. Everyone is disappointed. As soon as I get my money back, which will also take 3-5 days, I’ll be deleting my account. I just gave them $40 for six weeks for no real reason. Granted that might have only earned me a penny in my bank account, but that is a penny more than I made here and less the disappointment. Our whole group feels cheated.

    Apparently you must live and die by their app. I join several step bets at a time to keep My self accountable. The standard syncing timeline is several days. Which I have made it appoint to track on my calendar and update. As it has worked out it never aligned with the end of a competition. Imagine my surprise when I complete an 8 week competition and because I did not sync within a 24 hour period I was disqualified. 👎👎

  • Give your money to Charity instead

    So you’re on top enough of your goals to get the pot? Then you should just tuck $40 into a drawer, do the challenge, and if you lose donate it to a charity instead of these folks. When you bet $40 you get about $4-8 back when you hit the goal vs a loss of $40. The way the math is done, virtually every dollar that is “lost” ends up in their hands.

    Every single game I’ve ever done was step back at least make back what I put into it however recently they are taking more money than they should and you’re not getting any money back in if you do it’s maybe two dollars . I’m worried it’s a scam at this point. And yes I’m a member so don’t reply with that.

    Not at all supportive of their customers. Their goal is to see how much of your money they can keep otherwise they don’t get paid. They want you to fail so they like to put hoops in place for you to jump through so they’ll get a bigger payday.
