  • Widgets shouldn’t require subscription

    I love this app but I will forever be annoyed and disappointed that they force you to subscribe just to use the widgets. It makes sense for the other features but widgets allow accessibility and shouldn’t be paywalled. It will be a 1 star rating until this changes.

    After dark sky was bought out, it became terrible. Most inaccurate weather I’ve dealt with. I’ve canceled already for the year. 4 of us deleted the same day. Not worth it.

    Good forecast visualizations, could use some refinement with map scaling, but overall a nice product. HOWEVER. I’m tired of being called a “meatbag” on the “friendly” setting. The rating will decline until the developer actually provides a legit response.

    I would give her 5 stars but she always is asking for more money today 7/24/2025 and no mission (to find a place in the world) I really enjoy that feature what gives, is it part of the US government cut backs? Should we blame Elon ? Or rump? The democrats? scotus ? Iran? The big beautiful bill? NPR? M&M’s ?Coke ? Tariff’s ? Epstein ? Congress ? Colbert?

    Update: January, 2025. Many people tell me that the information shown on this app is available from NOAA Weather or other free apps . That’s true, but I have grown accustomed to the Carrot UI. Information is quick and easy to find and presented in’s way that I understand. I enjoy using the app, so the subscription is a value to me. As for others please decide in your own. Many complain that forecasts are often incorrect. Welcome T science. Forecasting weather is never going to be 100%, and will never be completely accurate for your personal square care. Time weather sources gets the macro forecast right, Just look at the radar. —————— The app is going through a rough spell. Since December, 2021, the severe weather notifications have not been working properly. I’ve confirmed several winter weather advisories via both local weather and Amazon Alexa. Yep, NWS issued an advisory or warning. When looking at my Carrot weather app the notification is non-existent. I did check every weather source (Premium Plus member). To Dark Sky’s credit, they did show the most recent advisory. Every other weather source was silent. Carrot reported directly to me in early February, 2022, that they were aware of the situation. Expected a fix within 48 hours. Now, two weeks later, they lack of timely notifications continue. With a much higher purchase price compared to other weather apps comes a huge responsibility. I’m paying for them to get bassi app features right. I do enjoy the UI. That’s why I’ve stayed with the app. Please fix this issue.
