Description

PocketGuard is a budgeting app for people who want to be on top of their money. Personal finance is made simple by smart algorithms, which means budgeting with PocketGuard is so easy that you don't have to spend your entire life crunching numbers. We take care of all the routines like expense tracking and bill monitoring so you can clearly focus on money management operations. Always know what's in your pocket! A budget is a difference between income and expenses. If it's positive - you're doing well. In any other case, the budget is unbalanced and needs attention. This is where the "Leftover" feature takes action. How much disposable income do you have after paying your bills, saving for your goals, and setting aside enough money for needs and wants? The PocketGuard budgeting app does those calculations for you! Always know the actual safe-to-spend amount so you can fit your monthly budget. Comprehensive analytics! Budget and expense tracking are just a part of the story. If you wanna do money management the right way you need to learn from the data you track. PocketGuard's budgeting app provides you with various reports to let you see personal finances from different angles. Learn about your spending habits, make necessary adjustments, and optimize your monthly budget. Bill tracker and subscription manager! You can use PocketGuard as a bill organizer. Once you connect bank accounts the app starts working as a finance tracker. All your bills and subscriptions will be identified automatically and included in your monthly budget. The bill organizer will help you never miss the due date again. PocketGuard bill organizer gives you an easy way to negotiate better rates with your provider. So you can optimize your budget by cutting costs on services you use. PocketGuard subscription manager will help you to find subscriptions you might have forgotten about. This is another money management trick - stop paying for services you no longer need. Set and reach your financial goals! Goals are a key concept of budgeting. As was mentioned before, expense tracking is just a part of the story. Personal finance is made of goals. Let's say you want to spend less on shopping or save more for vacation. These are financial goals. The PocketGuard budget app gives you all the necessary tools to set them properly. Set up your debt-payoff plan! Nobody's perfect and almost anyone has debt to pay off. The question is: do you have a plan? Connect all your credit and loan accounts and we'll show you the way to a debt-free future. Our smart algorithm calculates the most profitable debt repayment strategy so you'll save hundreds or even thousands by paying less in interest! BANK-LEVEL SECURITY We use the same 256-bit SSL encryption as all major banks to ensure your sensitive information is safe and sound. The PocketGuard app also uses PIN codes and biometrics, like Touch ID & Face ID, as an additional security layer. PocketGuard connects to U.S. and Canadian financial institutions only. PocketGuard Plus subscription lengths and prices: Monthly - $12.99* / month Annual - $74.99* / year Prices are in U.S. dollars, may vary in countries other than the U.S., and are subject to change without notice. If you choose to purchase PocketGuard Plus, payment will be charged to your iTunes account. Auto-renewal may be turned off at any time by going to your settings in the iTunes Store after purchase. • Security Concerns

Within a week of opening my account, I received a security alert ping from one of my credit cards due to potential fraudulent activity. Additionally, they use Billshark to offer bill negotiation services, but that 3rd party service is very challenging to cancel. Finally, the app doesn’t offer a great layout for all of your finances if you split bills with other members of household , and makes it difficult to track transfers between accounts. Would not recommend.
  • Overall great experience

I’ve been using pocketguard around 6 months now. While there have been some sync issues on occasion they have always worked themselves out. Recently, I’ve had an issue where I have lost a couple transactions on the same day. Aggravating, but not a show stopper. I do love some of the new features though. Only thing that worries me is that once new features are added, that’s when i see little bugs start showing up. Overall, Pocketguard is a nice tool to monitor your spending with. It would get 5 stars if it weren’t for the little quirks that occasionally arise.
  • App doesn’t work

Not sure if it’s a bug? But hopefully this review will pop up to the developers and they can fix it. I can’t get past the start my membership screen because it redirects me to my browser to a blank page that won’t load. Will probably have to go with another app if they don’t fix this soon.
  • Connection Issues

I use to love the app but now I am having constant connection iissues. It has been over two months and they still can’t get the issues figured out. The app is useless to me if it doesn’t work at least every couple days. I am lucky if if connects once every three weeks. I have cancelled my subscription but I wish I could get my money back. When I contacted support they said they know about the issue but have no timeline. Two months and you still have no answers? If it is my banks fault then don’t have banks listed as compatible that aren’t.
  • Best on Appstore IMHO

In my humble opinion this is the best free Budgeting App on the Appstore, as I have tried basically all of the other popular free budgeting apps available. I specifically appreciate the bank account sync feature which not only syncs with my bank but also syncs my Checking, Savings, and Credit Accounts (it is a day behind in terms of sync updating but that is not an issue for me). I also appreciate the separate management of bills/utilities/subscriptions, income, transfers between accounts, and other transactions. The transaction sorting and tagging are very easy to use and actually help with tracking transaction and money flow. The Insights page which provides a pie chart of spending based on your chosen budget categories as well as a line chart that tracks spending over the course of the month are extremely useful when comparing spending month-to-month and across categories. The one thing I would suggest as others have mentioned in their reviews is being able to edit budgets/transactions from previous and future months. But with that being said I do very much like having the dashboard, budget, and insight views being geared toward only showing one month’s information, being the month you are currently in. I highly recommend this app.

Since Mint has been killed, this app is the best in the market and they keep on getting better.

I got charged $68 at the end of my trial but cancelled my trial the day of getting it due to me not liking the overall app in general. Thankfully my bank flagged and declined it but very scammy app. DONT RECOMMEND

This app has matched exactly what I’d been looking for: a way to budget and make informed financial choices without getting crazy overwhelmed.
  • Awful

Doesn’t sync up right. Amounts of bills will randomly change. Doesn’t categorize spending accurately. Will have bills show up as other spending. Constantly having to edit income, spending, and budgets. Overall worst app and complete waste of money. Will not buy again
  • Easy fix but they’re not interested

Tried the free trial. Couldn’t see any pending transactions. Checked-my bank DOES share them with PocketGuard. Reached out to PG support and they took a long time to answer. Then they wanted screenshots of my banking app with the missing transactions. They refused to help without it. But kept sending me emails asking how they could help optimize my experience. Cancelled the trial.
