  • Horrible App Quality

When the music plays it’s awesome. But quite often the music just doesn’t play, takes forever to load, skips without me telling it to. Search quality/ UI is horrendous. Just a terrible terrible app that outweighs all of the good things Qobuz is doing. The worst part is these issues have been around for a long time and they haven’t bothered fixing.
  • Unreliable and slow

I had close to 35GB of music downloaded on my qobuz app, and on a recent international trip, whipped out my app to listen. No dice. None of the downloaded music was visible, and adding insult to injury, I was presented with a weird red band error that said there wasn’t an Internet connection. The content is decent (two stars), the app is unreliable, the app is slow.
  • Somewhat disappointing

No Siri integration, poor CarPlay UI, and no background downloads (“keep the app open and your screen unlocked”). Great catalog and playlists though.
  • Cancelled Spotify after 10years for QOBUZ

The sound quality is what kept me! Everything else sounds like two cups bound by a string. I mean you really hear it. This is the epitome of what a true music streaming app should be—enjoyable and ethical. I left Spotify because of CEO Daniel Ek’s recent investments and his terrible package for artists. I feel SO SO SO SO SO SO good WHEN I HEAR MUSIC THROUGH THIS PLATFORM, and I also am glad that the artist is getting their share. I hope they can continue to evolve and stand on their values.
  • User interface unfriendly

Honestly, I was excited. Want to get away from my current subscription service so i downloaded Qobuz and created an account. But then I got caught in this loop of “create a login/login already in use”. Then I tried to find plan/billing information but couldn’t find it anywhere, but decided to forge ahead anyway. Tried to transfer my playlist, and after four attempts it said I didn’t have any playlists or albums (both not true), also, in other buttons it showed “premium” to move certain things. So felt like. Hidden cost trap, so I just deleted the app.
  • App not transparent

Pricing is not clear, unable to determine tiers. Subscription feels scammy. Pricing on website is not at all as listed on website.
  • The app is slow

High quality audio, nice no-frills UI. Not as much AI slop/algorithmic content. But the app is slow. Constantly buffers sometimes. Please fix the app or I may have to go to Tidal.
  • Qobuz streaming

With the recent software changes, I can now stream Qobuz to my SR 7011 Marantz receiver and the music plays in in high definition. It uses the HEOS app from Marantz & Dennon. I also use Amarra Play app, for E.Q. Now able to listen to high def music from Qobuz on my main stereo just by streaming it from my iPhone. Sounds great.. Thanks!!!!

I have no major complaints. The only two problems I have with this app: 1. Doesn’t have all the songs I had on other apps (only like 2, nothing crazy). 2. Doesn’t not have built in lyrics. Other than that, it is great!
  • Spotify still wins by miles (Overpriced and Underwhelming)

I heard about Qobuz from someone on Instagram as a possible replacement for Spotify, but honestly, it’s nowhere close. The UI is messy, the design feels weak, and the music variety is limited — mostly well-known songs with almost no small or independent artists. For $16.99/month, I expected more. I was especially disappointed by their playlist transition feature. It made me think I’d get all my old playlists, but instead, I just got their own pre-made ones. It felt misleading. Spotify may have its flaws — like low artist pay or AI use — but at least it’s accessible for students with a premium discount, has a better-organized platform, and actually delivers the content I want. Qobuz just feels incomplete, overpriced, and, frankly, like a downgrade.
